For what it’s worth, Jane Slater mentioned three names to watch for the Cowboys:

Bijan Robinson
Michael Mayer
Darnell Wright
Any of the three would be solid picks and fit the Cowboys mantra of taking the best of a position group. Robinson being RB #1, Mayer being TE #1, and D. Wright being RT #1. I've got a hard time seeing any of the three available at #26 though.

Mayer is the only one that will possibly be there.

In most mocks I see, and in most simulators, Darnell Wright is still available at 26. He is certainly not a sexy pick, and I don’t pick him often, but when I do, the board weirdly falls almost perfectly for me.

There’s always a really good DL or TE option in the second. There’s always a solid RB or WR in the 3rd. And because Darnell can play tackle, I feel zero guilt grabbing a Zavala or Mafi OG later in the draft.

Don’t know if anyone has had similar experiences with certain positions at 26, but if I grab Bijan or a WR in the first I’m almost always sad about half of my other picks
If we can get Wright in the first its an absolute home run. Move him to guard and the line is really coming together. As you said, plenty of TE's, RB's in rounds 2-4.

Meh. Darnell Wright is OK. He's not 1st round material. 2nd or 3rd for sure. He is very handsy, so he will definitely attract a lot of holding penalties. His hands are small, while his arms are short. He's nimble on his feet, but he has stiff hips. Plus, he play way too upright.

Wright is definitely not better than Tyler Smith. Not even close. Wait until the 2nd for Wright. If he's gone, no biggie. Draft an OLineman during the mid rounds. 1st round pick needs to be used on a playmaker.
