the change to the 3-4 defense has cost us dearly..

I'd also add put Ellis at defensive end as well as Ware and move our best ILBer into a MLBer position and get our fastest LBers to play the outside positions.

Having Ellis at LBer just isn't working and I think moving Williams to one of these LBer positions and getting him moving along the LOS and into the backfield is way better than him in the defensive backfield.

I'm agreeing there. I've always thought he has a LBer mentality and shouldn't be covering fast WRs. RB's..fine..not WRs.

I don't think we'd have any problems with the DL we have playing the 4-3 and just concentrating on getting penatration on the OL and QB.

It's probably too late for any of that.

But when BP goes, I think the 3-4 will be also and we have the nucleus of a good 4-3 team for the incoming coach.

As for the DB's, our free safeties all need to be cut loose and we need some coverage free safeties in the draft or FA to go with the pressure a 4-3 might bring.

DTR.

In this case, I would put Ferguson and Spears in the middle and Ellis and Ware at ends. Bradie or Carpenter at MLB, Roy Williams and Ayodele at outside linebacker.

In the Nickel I would bring in Ratliff for Ferguson and Canty for Spears. Williams and Burnett as linebackers.

I just know that when we had smaller, faster linebackers they seemed to be able to cover backs a hell-of-a-lot better.

Guess Parcells needs a new water boy?

Yes..I've defended this guy for 4 years now.

But results are results.

He's failed to produce the bottomline. I like the guy and admire everything he's accomplished and he's helped the franchise clean the stink off the Campo era and the others.

And he's helped Jerry Jones' image concerning not being able to meddle in the HC position. Which should help alot more when the next HC comes for an interview.

BP has helped that perception.

But I think he's failed on the field.

For whatever reason.

And now that Payton has left, the guy I thought would take over after BP, I'm not sure where that leaves this team and how much of what BP tried to build won't just be dismantled right after he is gone.

hmmm..

This is a load of crap.

I haven't noticed a difference between the 3-4 we're running, and the 4-3 we use to run.

And that's actually the problem, but staying in the 4-3 wouldn't of made a difference. We still can't get to the QB consistently.

The only issue here is that Jerry Jones has said that we would be using the 3-4 even when Parcells leaves. I think it's because of the players and $$$$ invested in the scheme.

And I don't think Roy has the weight to play LB except for obvious Nickel downs.

fine, then let's get a 3-4 defensive coordinator, like the guy who's coaching San Diego's 3-4.
