That is the Chargers franchise record. They, like the Cowboys, the ALMOST, team.

Watching the KC @ LAC game, the Chargers missed on so many LITTLE things, that actually cost them the game.

Chargers are the AFC version of the Dallas Cowboys. They just can't execute enough, to win games. The Chargers have no home field advantage. The crowd at SoFo Stadium was equally for the Chiefs. Dallas has a bigger/louder fan base, on the road, than at home.And the Cowboys barely have a winning record at home.

Philip Rivers, like Tony Romo, could not get their franchises to a Superbowl with so much "talent" around them. Always the little things, that hurt each QB/team, to get them to even a Conference Finals. Always about personal stats with individual stats trying to support the team is good but didn't support the TEAM getting WINS.

So it really has been the last 15 years, when Bill was rebuilding them. Which is still way too long. Then again, it was from what 1979 until 1992 until they made it back to the SB.

How is a franchise that’s tied for the 2nd most Super Bowl wins (5) in NFL history now labeled as an ‘almost team’? This seems to be a narrative that’s starting to take over.. and it couldn’t be more wrong.

There has only been 1 franchise that has been dominate since the Cowboys dominate 90’s teams; the New England Patriots. So in 30 years, there have been 2 “dynasties”; one of which happens to be the Dallas Cowboys.

Thats an unbelievably ignorant take on both Rivers and Romo.

Those guys left body parts all over NFL fields trying to win for their teams…..and both very good QBs

The Chargers lost that game because they went for it on 4th down 5 times and only made 2 first downs. They should have kicked FGs and taken the points on 4th and goal situations.

But I was thinking the same thing about the parallels to the two teams. Even the fumble reaching for the goal line looked like the Dak fumble down at the goal line. The Chargers defense was awful at the end last night. I think they were exhausted from chasing Mahomes around. They should have had a spy on him.

That’s not how records work. Note how you used the Chargers entire record. That is how records work. That’s why they call em records.

Americas Team has the second highest winning % OF ALL TIME.
57.1 for Dallas
57.2 for Green Bay
2nd most super bowls and played in THE MOST playoff games.

You can do better.

I do buy that Rivers was the AFC Romo. Eerily similar careers and had the tendency to ball out all game just to throw that last boneheaded pick. Gunslingers who couldn’t quite hold back from that last mistake. Creative QB’s with unique throwing motions and gaudy stats but never won the big ones.

That being said both are far and away franchise QB’s.

Chargers were in the AFC title game following the 2007 season. They lost to the Patriots 21 - 12.

The Chargers franchise is one game below 500. They’ve never won a championship while the Cowboys record is 535-402-6 and have been to 8 Super Bowls winning 5 of them. What a ridiculous comparison. Can’t believe anyone could be that down on the team when we’re sitting here at 9-4 a top the NFC East.
