Can the new and improved tough guy Phillips actually command respect?
History says no. He will be the push over he always has and Jerry will allow the team to walk over and around him to the real power.
We'll see.
Will the offensive line gel again and be a powerhouse or fall back to the 2008 problems that caused us woe?
Flo is older, but we get Kosier back. A toss up at this point but age is starting to creep in.
We'll see.
Is Austin a true number 2 receiver or will he just be number 2?
His experience says the latter. But there are those that expect big things.
We'll see.
Can Garrett figure out how to put the three headed monster in play and get all the goody out of the running game, or is he a guy that was propped up by Sparano the year before?
Last year's results suggest he needs someone behind him to suggest plays and tote his over-priced salary. But it's a new day and he has a healthy team.
Well see.
Can Garrett stop the deep passing attack like the Raiders and come to grips with moving the ball and ball control win games, and not a 23% success rate on throwing deep all the time?
I think not.
We'll see.
Can Rw11 be the true number one and command the respect of defenses getting the double team and freeing up others, or did the team make a huge mistake in shipping out 30% of the passing game by cutting TO?
That is yet to be determined. History says RW11 is a complimentary WR that doesn't have the goods to be the number 1. But then he was in Detroit.
We'll see.
Can Witten still post near 1000-yard seasons without T.O. like he did in back to back seasons with T.O.?
Witten is The Truth. But even the best players have to have the team around them to succeed. If RW11 can't command respect, Witten will be sandwiched and his effectiveness could suffer. That tumbles down the entire offense like dominoes.
We'll see.
Can Bennett make a second year leap and be a force of nature like his athleticism and skills suggest, or will we see a kid who is too immature and can't handle the truth?
Bennett is the wild card here. I don't recall any team that has ever been a real factor with two stud tight ends as the focal point of the passing game. But you know, that may be a trend Dallas sets in motion by having Mr Production in Witten and Mr. Deep Threat in Bennett. Of all the questions here, this one seems the most positive to me.
We'll See.
Can Romo control his game and stop with the emotional turnovers when there is no play?
The likelihood of this is slim and none. That is like Asking favre to not be Favre. And Romo ain't no Favre. But he also doesn't have T.O. to whine about being thrown to.
We'll see.
Can Romo become the leader this team needs and be the extension of the coaching staff on the field to control the emotions and galvanize the team when needed?
History says no. You are either a leader or not. Leading by example never works for a quarterback. (Please do not cite examples where it did. The history of this league has too much in place for one or two examples to mean jack shate.) But it's a new day and we don't have T.O. here to kick around Romo.
We'll see.
Can the defense improve it's defensive back play and finally stop other teams from passing at will?
Unless the team finds a true diamond at corner and safety, and Standrich and Jenkins become the players we all hope, the answer is no. But the draft is here and hope spring etermal.
We'll see.
Can Newman play an entire season without one of his wheels falling off?
He is getting older. You'd like to think so, but truthfully the odds are in favor of him missing games at some point.
We'll see.
Will the linebackers be Jeckyl or Hyde? Can they deliver and consistently stop the run? Or will this be a recap of the Ravens game at any moment in time?
We have brought in some players. But that hasn't changed the landscape much. Ware will be a monster. Spencer is still - the jury is out. Ellis is going to be much older, but he seems to take this disrespect thing and make it a force to motivate him. Still, we are soft up the middle and James has issues.
We'll see.
Does losing Canty and picking up Olshanski mean we lost a step?
That will be an interesting battle. Ware will mean Igor has a stud behind him and he should get better. But how much we lost is yet to be seen.
We'll see.
Is the interior of the defensive line going to rise to the occasion or are we trying to play people too small and out of place and will be exposed again?
One hopes we draft a nose tackle. But until they wear down, the first half of the season we are in good shape.
We'll see.
Can McBriar come back from the foot injury and launch satelites into orbit again?
I hope Jerry has to raise the video screen.
We'll see.
Can the team overcome lack of discipline and stop the freakin penalties?
Flat out, I say no. It takes a leader as a coach to scare them. We don't have anything but Mr. Stay Puft.
We'll see.
Can the team be healthy and not lose key people where the team suffers production?
That is always a crap shoot for any team. But if we started the season today, WR scares most as the thinnest area where an injury would decimate the team.
We'll see.

Call it chicken little if you like. But each one of those are legitimate questions that need answers. The number of them suggests some will go our way and some won't.
Depends on which do and which don't how the season will end up.
They also don't factor in the health of other teams and the weather conditions when we start the play-off push in the second half of the season.
But you know...
We'll see!!!
