The clock operator

I rewatched the 2nd to last play several times this morning. Looks like the ball hits the Cowboys player right as the clock is turning from 2 to 1 and then the clock just stops. If this were basketball perhaps there's .5 seconds left.

I thought it was dead once it hits the ground? If thats the case time should've expired.
Right not dead until it hits the ground.
On the replay it clearly hit the ground with 1 second remaining.

If the clock operator would have let it run out inDallas or in GB. The refs would have overturned it, and added 1 second.
Maybe.
We seen how NY have made mistakes before.

What I didn't agree with is when Collinsworth said that the ball is dead as soon as it hits a player, since when?
Same, if that ball was bouncing around in the air after hitting the player, then time would still be running. Idk why he said that
I think he was misunderstood, or he just did not explain it well.
He knew what he wanted to say, but with all the excitement did not say it correctly.
That was the way I took it anyway. I believe he knew it was not dead until it hit the ground, after hitting a player. He misspoke.

I think it’s been reported by some forum members here, can’t remember who, that the call was correct. The ball hit the ground with 1 second left.

I’m sure it will be talked about today by the talking heads and reviewed ad nauseum.

The clock expiring does not make our defense any better than they are, which is historically terrible. IMO, the overtime period should be a full 15 minute quarter anyway. And if that was the case, GB probably would have won.

Yeah i was like WHAT? They stop the clock as soon as it hit our linebacker. Just our luck 1 second stays on the clock lol. IDK what Jerry did but we are the most unlucky team in the NFL.

The ball hit the player with 2 seconds left, the clock did not stop until it hit the ground with 1 second left.

Ohhh ok. Still just our luck that they end up with 1 second. I guess its better than them scoring a TD though.

All I know is the Cowboys wouldn't have been on the favorable end of a play like that.

There was still time on the clock when the ball hit the ground.

This shouldn’t even be a discussion, especially the idea that the clock operator is at fault for not trying to cheat.

Also, the idea that there is some decades long conspiracy against the cowboys is so tired. Every fan base has that as a core belief amongst some of their fans and its so played out.

It did hit the ground with one second.....but Im old and was sleepy so could be wrong.
