The Commanders and Jets are nearing a deal for Patrick Ramsey.

The deal is rumored to send Ramsey to New York for a sixth-rounder in 2006 and a future pick. Ramsey would reunite with Lavernues Coles, his favorite target in the 2003 season.

That's a former first for a 6th.

This is why the Skins have to sign so many FA's. Their drafts yielded sweet FA for them.

That's a good deal for the Jets. Ramsey has talent, I can't believe the Skins are just giving him away.

Fark, we gave away our 6th for Fujitas Grande, while the Jets are getting a possible future QB for the same???

Is something wrong with this picture???

the skins have drafted and signed FAs so well and are so stacked that they can afford to trade away great talent for late day 2 picks and even to (gasp) outright cut them. lavar "the savior" arrington and patrick "the great one" ramsey are just two such examples. coming next years jason "the unbelievable" campbell and mark "the revelation" brunell.

Was listening to the radio yesterday evening and also watching sportscenter, trying to catch something about the TO situation and someone, can not remember who, said that one team was only willing to offer a 7th round pick for Ramsey.

I want to say it was the jets but could be wrong.

I seem to recall some visitors saying they could get a 1st day or 4th round pick for ramsey.

brain you have to excuse the "visitors". you see their team makes draft picks so infrequently that they tend to forget such minor details as how many rounds there are in the NFL draft and what picks are day 1 and which are on day 2. so when they said 4th round they could easily have meant round 6. honest mistake.

:lmao:

Spurrier is still a curse.

Yes. They just signed a QB to be their # three guy. So Ramsey is toast.

I heard on www.theticket.com ticket ticker that the jets were trying to work out a trade with the falcons. Abraham for Schaub there were some more parts to this trade but these were the big names.

Lets see how many "visitors" we get on draft day weekend. Should be quite in DC that weekend.

Thank christ, I'm so glad we're getting rid of Ramsey. Now I won't have to listen to fellow Commanders fans *****ing about how he got a raw deal, how he can be #1, etc.

My take on Ramsey is that he's got a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head. He wants to be the gunslinger, ala Favre but everyone should realize that there's only one Favre.

Maybe Spurrier screwed him up and is responsible for his bad development, maybe not. But thats not the point.

I really don't care what we get for him. Addition by subtraction, if you ask me.

Spurrier didn't draft Ramsey, that was done under Schottenheimer.

I'd blame Snyder and Cerratto for your sparse draft success.

Say this goes down... ANOTHER team at the top of the draft with a need for QB gets one... Makes the odds of one of the big three QBs falling to #18 a lot better. hmmmm

a Skin fan overrating one of their own, how amusing

I remember on another board that Skin fans felt they could get a 3rd round choice for Jeremiah Trotter...they ended up cutting him

Yep ... it's like magic. The Jets turning a 6th in a 1st rounder, while we throw away a 6th for half a season's play from a lousy LB.
