Fletcher cost you 25 mil over 5 years, with a 10.5 million signing bonus...

That's some ham sandwich, especially for a 32 year old MLB who's already played in 144 NFL games...

Yeah, both of those deals seem a bit excessive to me...

fletcher makes about 3-4 mil a year for the first 3 years (the last 2 he wont see). heres a list of the highest paid linebackers in the league for 2006-

Ray Lewis, Baltimore: $8,428,571
Zach Thomas, Miami: $7,287,000
Keith Bulluck, Tennessee: $7,108,668
Derrick Brooks, Tampa Bay: $6,907,083
Takeo Spikes, Buffalo: $6,300,000
Dan Morgan, Carolina: $6,285,000
Al Wilson, Denver: $5,986,733
Brian Urlacher, Chicago: $5,800,510
Rosevelt Colvin, New England: $5,478,000 Donnie Edwards, San Diego: $5,350,000

i'm far from an expert, so correct me if my numbers are wrong, but a guy that is top 3 over the last 7 years in tackles along with zach thomas and ray lewis, has this kind of bio http://www.jointheteam.com/features/?f=432&t=6 , this kind of write up a month ago http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10028995/rss , and who ran greg williams D for 3 years (they were #2 in the league in 2003 and 2004), LFB looks like a bargain to me.

I have to admit that this year is the year of "INSERT TEAM NAME HERE spent way too much money on INSERT PLAYERS NAME HERE".....

thats starting to drive me nuts across the board.

But that being said, Fletcher is a 32 year old LB that has played in 144 games. He is a bit worn out...has to be.....I mean the knock on Ray Lewis is that he is "old and worn out" and "not the player he used to be"...Ray Lewis is also 32 years old and has played in 148 games. That is alot of football for a LB.....My prediction is Fletcher wont be the same in Washington. Dont get me worong the man can play ball and has a great track record for making tackles, but at some point his body has to break down and my guess is it will happen sometime this season.
