Rg3 looked pretty good, take it for what it was. He had no pressure I think 144 passer rating.

They played Buffalo; it looked like neither team really wanted to win.

I watched the game online. Robert Griffin didn't look bad, didn't look good. The bulk of his yards came on a couple screen plays. Let's wait to jump to conclusions about how he will pan out.

Here's the video:

He's already showed skins fans more than Campbell, Ramsey or any of the other rookies that we've had in the last century or so.

He looked damn good to us. But also consider what we are used to.

All the yards came from passes over the middle. Buffalo tried to take the middle away, and then Griffin hit the screen (screen is good against 3 deep).

The story of the day had to be the Skins defense -- namely the defensive line, who was pressuring the Bills and stuffing the run.
Skins D is still going to be their bell cow.

^^The nice thing was that even his incompletions were right on the money...the pass to Niles that was dropped was probably RG3's best play of the night.

All in all, happy with the first effort...hoping to see improvement and then consistency. :)

Well, it was only a small sampling, but it looked very much like the same guy from Baylor. Passes on the money and with a little mustard on 'em. The stat line was a little inflated thanks to that screen that got him a TD, but it was executed to perfection, so he deserves some credit. The only bad play I recall was a hand-off that didn't work out too well for them. I don't know that you can take a ton away from that game, although the accuracy and crispness of his passes isn't something that one can rationally explain away by stating "it's just preseason" or something along those lines. It'll be interesting to see what he'll do at this level once he faces pressure.

Being in the DC area, it was all over the TVs here of course. My Buffalo Wild Wings was PACKED with Skins fans last night. I was lucky to have gotten there early enough for a seat - it literally was SRO, and I had three of my friends standing behind me as well! I stayed for the first half. RG III did look pretty good I thought. Wasn't really impressed by anything or anybody else though, on either team.

A lot of RAC. And what's up with the stupid looking glove and arm sleeve. That looks down right, well, stupid! Was it cold last night?

He came back to DC in one piece and did not look Blaine Gabbert/Heath Shuler overwhelmed. Cool, confident and poised. The accurate passes were just bonus

First preseason game mean next to nothing, and who wins or loses any preseason game mean next to nothing.
But I do think RG3 will become a very good QB in time.

RGIII is gonna be a stud. Better than Luck imo.
I saw an interview RGIII did awhile back and my impression of him was he is a good dude but remember saying it sucks that he is gonna be a Commander. Yes, I think he will make them better. Don't know if he will be better than Luck but we shall see.

I saw a few of the highlights from the game. I thought I saw at least a couple times the receiver had to go to the ground to catch the pass. Maybe it was someone else.

There was one pass where Garcon went to the ground to catch the ball. The other passes were all fine.

I think RG3 thought Garcon was gonna cut his route shorter than he did:

Garcon, on that route, had the option to continue deep or cut it off, depending on the coverage. The Bills took away the deep ball by keeping both safeties high, so Garcon cut off the route. Griffin was on the same page as his receiver and anticipated the shorter route against the deep coverage he saw, too. He then stepped into the throw and for a nice chunk of yardage.

Could have been Griffin thought Garcon would cut the route a yard or so shorter than he did...could have just been a less-than-stellar pass. Either way, it's just one pass from one preseason game, so doesn't mean too much in the long run.

There was one throw over the middle that was low, but it looked like it was deliberate -- defenders didn't have a chance to make a play on it; I think that was on Garcon, and how he decided to play the ball. He could have caught it running but he likely would have got hammered.

Ahh.... ok, maybe I just saw the same play twice. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, it was one pass in one preseason. I have just been reading things today about his play like he's the next great qb who did no wrong and kept thinking I thought I saw him throwing a a couple of his passes at the WR's feet. Wasn't adding up in my head, but seems that was more me. :)

Of course, some people think Manning looked good and I thought from the highlights he was uneven at best. Eye of the beholder and all.
