5Stars;2565727 said:Not really...too many people out there with a job that they are not doing, yet getting paid for it!

I look for baseball to take a big hit next year. It wouldn't surprise me to see baseball ticket sales drop 30% if the economy doesn't rebound quickly.
Small market teams will have a hard time staying afloat.

Naw, Art will still be there shining the Midget's shoes...as always! Now, if Snyder really wants to save money he needs to get rid of that Madden football mentality....
5Stars;2565550 said:I just don't get it? If it's the economy, how come other teams are not laying off lots of people? I mean, Snyder is supposed to be a brilliant mind at this kind of stuff. Why the layoffs for them?
5Stars;2565578 said:I'm sure most or all of them get laid on!

I have a friend who is a Commanders fan (I try not to hold it against him ) and he signed up a few years ago for the season ticket waiting list. They claim to have a waiting list of 200,000 people, and he was assigned a position # 170,000 (or something like that).
So my friend calls me last week and says he got the invitation from the team to buy season tickets for next year. They still claim to have a waiting list of 200,000 people but he has only been on it for 4 years and now has reached the top and could purchase up to 8 seats. (He says they assured him this was a legit offer for regular season tickets - not for club seats or obstructed view or any such nonsense)
One of the things about it that puzzled me the most was the timing of the phone call. The season just ended 2 weeks ago. I always thought that what happened was invoices get mailed out to STHers in Jan-Feb, with the payments due in March or April. Then after the deadline passes, the team knows how many people aren't renewing and those seats get offered to people on the waiting list.
So essentially the Commanders have offered tickets to people on the waiting list before really knowing how many non-renewals they will have this year. Methinks their STH fan base and waiting list aren't really as big as they tell us.
Well, in all fairness, they do have a waiting list about 3-4 years long, which is more than the Cowboys could say until this past year (and something tells me the Cowboys' waiting list will evaporate due to the PSLs in the new stadium).Danny White;2573117 said:The Redsk*n waiting list has become a complete myth nowadays.
Anyone can get tickets now.
