Frankly, I'm a little tired of the poor-mouthing the fans are giving the Cowboys team. I get the past, and the last almost 30 years of futility. I also get that the 49ers ruined a lot of fans post season last year. But the Cowboys and Eagles are clearly the class of the NFC and compare favorably with the top 3 team in the AFC - the Bills, Chiefs and Bengals. any of those teams should beat the 49ers 7 times out of 10.

If you want to know WHY I believe the Cowboys are the better team, go read the two long posts I made in this thread: https://cowboyszone.com/threads/is-the-49ers-defense-overrated.506878/

I don't know if the Cowboys will win on Sunday. But they should win, and do so fairly easily.

There, I said it. The McCarthy era is a change in how the Cowboys operate, and fans need to recognize it, and start believing in this team once again.

We’ll find out tomorrow if the Cowboys can put together another real good game in a row. They’ve been inconsistent this season and if the pattern continues our season will be over.

Yeah, I'm not really interested in fans telling me I should believe and what not. I need to see it from the Cowboys. Then, I'll believe
You mean being a "sane" person? Yeah..good call.

Well this actually isn't factual in the slightest. You don't win 12 games and beat every division winner you play (Vikings, eagles, bucs) while being inconsistent. And if the pattern continues we will win the SB, because we are on the stretch where we should win 4 in a row actually. (lose 1, win 4, lose 1, win 2, lose 1, win 4, lose 1, win 2, lose 1, we are in the win 4 portion right now)

That's pretty much it, getting people's hopes up by mopping the floor with the second tier teams (sometimes) but failing spectacularly at making that next step,,,, year after year. That Buc game was somehow encouraging even though the 2022 Bucs are a third tier team,,,

The only time the team showed any consistency was those four consecutive wins with Cooper Rush. It certainly wasn’t because of him it was because the defense was playing so well. We were keeping everyone under 20 points during that 4-0 run and our pass rush was relentless. After we lost to Philly things started to change, especially with the defense and the Cowboys started playing down to their opponents and giving up more points. They were still winning but they didn’t look very impressive. The last four games of the season they were very up and down. You really didn’t know what Cowboys team was going to show up.

That's it entirely. The Cowboys have a chance tomorrow to go somewhere they haven't been since 1/14/96. I'm all for it, but I'll "believe" when I see it. It's been 27 years.

The pattern has been 1 loss followed by 4 wins followed by 1 loss followed by 2 wins. Repeat. Based on that pattern,
the loss to Commodes was the loss before the 4 wins. If the pattern continues, we win the next 3 games and the SB this year.

So because they didn't hold opponents to 20 or less that means no consistancy? Going on 4 games winning streaks is consistency. Winning 12 games while the #1 team in your conference only won 1 more is consistency. What world do you guys live in? The one where the cowboys supposed to go 17-0 and blow every team out?

The point is some of the wins were a struggle and weren’t impressive. The only time we showed consistency was during the four consecutive wins with Cooper Rush, because our defense was playing outstanding. Things started changing after the loss to Philly, especially with the defense. A couple of weeks later we didn’t look very impressive against a bad Bears team. Then we ended up losing to a bad Packers team that was riding a 6 game losing streak. Our pass rush started to disappear and we began giving up a lot of points. The next week we bounced back by steamrolling the Vikings. The following week we beat the Giants but didn’t look that impressive. We were struggling against Indianapolis the following week until that crazy fourth quarter. The very next week we barely got passed a terrible Texans team at home. The following week we blew a 17 point lead to Jacksonville.

The next week we barely got past Philly, despite them playing with a backup QB. We got shredded by Gardner Minshew, who drove the Eagles all the way to the Cowboys 19 yard line with time running out. We barely survived. The next week we looked unimpressive in the win over Tennessee who was playing with a backup QB, who just arrived a week earlier, and no Derrick Henry. They rested a number of starters in that game. The very next week we looked horrible playing our worst game of the season against a bad Washington team who had a rookie QB making his first NFL start. Now we’re coming off a very impressive win over Tampa. Let’s see what Cowboys team shows up tomorrow.

Anyone who’s been following the Cowboys knows they’ve been playing down to their opponents most of the season. Care to dispute that? Our defense has never been as good as it was earlier in the season. Our pass rush hasn’t been the same and we’ve giving up more points. We lost to a couple of teams that didn’t even make the playoffs. The last month of the season we were 2-2 with a couple of real bad games. We’re coming off a real solid win in the playoffs now we’ll see what Cowboys team shows up tomorrow.

This is illogical. We can look at all the top teams that are remaining in the playoffs and none of them were dominant every single week at the end of the season. Every single one of the teams had wins that were tight. A win is a win. Several times in this soliloquy you said "we won but weren't impressive". So your definition of consistency is impressive wins every week? That's nowhere near realistic man.

One thing we’ve heard from the fans on this board and the experts that cover the game is the Cowboys have played down to their opponents. It’s caused some unimpressive performances and some bad performances. We’re coming off a real good game against Tampa and we’ll find out tomorrow if the Cowboys can put together another real good game. They’re going to need to.
