The Cowboys are better than the 49ers

One thing we’ve heard from the fans on this board and the experts that cover the game is the Cowboys have played down to their opponents. It’s caused some unimpressive performances and some bad performances. We’re coming off a real good game against Tampa and we’ll find out tomorrow if the Cowboys can put together another real good game. They’re going to need to.
I feel confident because we've played up to every good team that we've ran across (Vikings, Eagles, Bucs, Bengals, Giants) If this season is any indicator they will come out with their hair on fire because the niners are a good team.

A win is a win. Several times in this soliloquy you said "we won but weren't impressive". So your definition of consistency is impressive wins every week? That's nowhere near realistic man.
Were you saying that after the Texans game? Were you happy with that performance? It was a win, but we certainly didn’t look like a team that’s going to win the Super Bowl. We beat Tennessee, it was a win, but it wasn’t very impressive. I don’t know about you, but I was hoping for a better performance playing against a bunch of backups. We’ll see what Cowboys team shows up tomorrow.

I mean I wasn't happy but I was glad we still got the win and didn't think it was indicative of how our season will end. KJJ you have been watching the NFL just as long as I have. You know for a fact every single year in NFL history that the SB winner has had ugly wins against lesser opponents. You cannot find a single year where that isn't true. So why does it get you so down that we had close games against bad opponents when every SB winner in history has done the exact same?

So you are worried about us playing down to SF and then Philly? LOL. Aren't we arrogant.

The NFL is competitive, and everyone is going to have some ugly wins, but the Cowboys routinely play down to their opponents. The good thing is we don’t have to worry about that tomorrow because they’re playing a really good team.

Frankly, I'm a little tired of the poor-mouthing the fans are giving the Cowboys team. I get the past, and the last almost 30 years of futility. I also get that the 49ers ruined a lot of fans post season last year. But the Cowboys and Eagles are clearly the class of the NFC and compare favorably with the top 3 team in the AFC - the Bills, Chiefs and Bengals. any of those teams should beat the 49ers 7 times out of 10.

If you want to know WHY I believe the Cowboys are the better team, go read the two long posts I made in this thread: https://cowboyszone.com/threads/is-the-49ers-defense-overrated.506878/

I don't know if the Cowboys will win on Sunday. But they should win, and do so fairly easily.

There, I said it. The McCarthy era is a change in how the Cowboys operate, and fans need to recognize it, and start believing in this team once again.
On paper we look like the better team, but the game is not played on paper.

We will see tommorow night who the better team really is.

The best team does not always win
I think whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins.
Primarily the turnovers

The Cowboys were better than the 49ers a year ago, and lost because of mistakes; so, your point is well taken. The most encouraging thing about the game against the Buccaneers last week wasn't the defensive freeze out of Tom Brady, or the 5 touchdowns by Dak. It was 2 penalties for 15 yards. If the Cowboys can repeat that performance, they are almost sure to win Sunday night.

Very good chance there will be a next week. Even ESPN analytics has us at 53% chance of winning.
You must be a real big believer in analytics. I wouldn’t go too overboard on what ESPN thinks or anyone else for that matter. We have a chance to win tomorrow but we have to come out playing inspired football and get off to a good start.

The Cowboys aren't better than the 9ers. The 9ers have a little more talent than we do. In the beginning of the year, many thought the 9ers were overrated and I said all along theyd be in our way in the playoffs. Now theyre in our way, like I said they'd be. But we have a shot at beating them.
