The Cowboys are really high on Drew Shelton

I don't think he is as bad or some scouting reports have.

ESPN had him ranked right around where he went.

The positives is he was a team captain, multiple starts at every position except center. Played all season and allowed 1 sack. Some coaching and he could be a steal

Well the good news is the scouts know how to pick Oline. The bad part is the scouts aren’t very good at defensive players…

Player comps

Caleb Downs - Ed Reed
Malachi Lawrence - Derrick Thomas
Jaishawn Barham - Ray Lewis
Drew Shelton - Jonathan Ogden
Devin Moore - Champ Bailey
LT Overton - John Randle
Anthony Smith - Torry Holt

This is best case scenario.

I love this pic where we got him his physical attributes. He’s a massive human being. He’s a right tackle in my opinion.

A fourth round pick isn’t typically expected to start. It happens but it’s not typical.

let him get some experience and reps backing up our current tackles and left year maybe he can push one of them out
The best line in NFL history, the Cowboys in 1992, consisted of:

LT: undrafted free agent who played defense in college (Tuinei)

LT: undrafted free agent (Newton)

C: 3rd round pick (Stepnoski)

RG: 10th round pick (Gesek), 8th round pick (Gogan)

RG: 3rd round pick (Williams)

Looks some of our blindest homers got a hold Risens sign on. Sleeper Cowboys? That was some deep digging on that one.
But really now, shouldnt they feel really high on every pick? I just hope Shelton becomes a better version of Thomas.
