The Cowboys are the most successful team in the Superbowl era yes

but to be the best team in the superbowl era, we need to win 3 of the next 4 superbowls, and remind people just who really runs the NFL. The Pats have stolen our thunder, and we need to get it back. This league is a what have you done for me league. And the truth of the matter is that we were sucking and the Pats were winning. It's time to take back the Lombardi and put it back in our trophy case where it belongs

Agree on everything except the BOLD.

The Pats thunder is now known as flashes of lighting and nothing more.

If they stumble again this year, then yea that'll be true. But the Pats still have some loyal " there the greatest team ever. Tom Brady is superman" fans and media writers.

The Pats success is tainted, plain and simple.

The 49ers had one great era then they disappeared.

The Steelers had one great era and a fluke win with help from the officials.

The Cowboys have had two, count 'em two, great eras and they're about to embark on a third. No other franchise comes close. Enjoy the ride.

I guess we'll have no comments from the deadskins and eglets.

Yes we will.
Eagles fans will say....what about the Buddy Ryan era, where the only matter was beating the Cowboys....
Commanders fans will say....Well, wait until the Jim Zorn era is done....and we need another strike year....

3 straight conf.title games 3 times, twice four(70-73, 80-82, 92-95).
I think this is the most impressive stat of all. Three completely different teams that spent a long time at or near the top.

That'll help you keep a perpetual fan base.

those two decades of playoff appearances is a remarkable feat. Thank you Mr. Landry.

only team i have a slight bit of envy if the 9ers...yes the 9ers...while we have gone 8 different times and came away the victor 5 times. They went 5 for 5 a pretty good feat and something I applaude
Don't swallow the propaganda of the so-called "Super Bowl Standings"

Code:
Super Bowl Standings
Team W	L	Pct.	Pts.	Opp.
San Francisco 49ers 5	0	1.000	188	89
Baltimore Ravens 1	0	1.000	34	7
New York Jets 1	0	1.000	16	7
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1	0	1.000	48	21
Pittsburgh Steelers 5	1	.833	141	110
Green Bay Packers 3	1	.750	127	76
Baltimore/Ind Colts 2	1	.667	52	46
New York Giants 2	1	.667	66	73
Dallas Cowboys 5	3	.625	221	132

This insidious list was concocted out of anti-Cowboys bias, and is even worse than the HOF snubs, because it operates under the guise of objectivity.

I got it fom nfl.com

The 49ers did not go 5-for-5 in Super Bowls. There have been 42 Super Bowls, and the 49ers were eligible to participate in every single one of them--all they had to do was go to a conference championship game and win. That's something the Cowboys have done 3 more times than the 49ers, and two more times than any other team.

If anybody tries to say the 49ers are 5-for-5 in Super Bowls, just correct them by reminding them that, no, the 49ers are actually 5-for-42.

Or show them this list, and ask why it only has the Cowboys on it...

Code:
Super Bowl Standings (minimum 7 appearances)
Team W	L	Pct.	Pts.	Opp.
Dallas Cowboys 5	3	.625	221	132

I was also most impressed with is:

You throw in our NCF Championship game appearences in the late 1960's and late 1970's. 16 in all. Wow! that's a lot of quality football.

Don't know about you guys, but I've always felt the was something special about Championship weekend. Its obviously better when you win but just getting to that final four is a major accomplishment.

Just think the Cowboys have done that 16 out of 42 seasons or 38% of the time.

When you look at those stats it's hard to believe we only have 8 hall of famers. We should have a few more in the upcoming years to come. The one that really gets to me is harvey martin. He has more sacks than randy white despite playing 3 less seasons in the nfl. 77 DPOY, co-sb mvp, all decade 70's team and all pro 4 times. Team records for most sacks by a rookie, most career sacks, and most sacks in a season. Him not being in the HOF surprises me more than any other cowboy.

Most of Cowboys who should be in the HOF but aren't, come from the Landry era. Not just Martin (who I agree is overlooked), but Howley, Harris, Hayes, Jordan, Green, and others.

When you look at the big 4 teams from the 70's (Cowboys, Steelers, Raiders, Dolphins) it's the Cowboys of that era that is the underrepresented team.
