The Cowboys are the only team in the NFL who haven't attempted a 4th down conversion

I think it's because we're so bad on 3rd down, that going for it on 4th doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The defense is coming on the field either way. Might as well kick.

Third down efficiency is what is killing this offense. It is pretty clear.

Garrett knows it might not work and fans and media will get mad.

Then he will have to give a real answer for what happened instead of his political comments on everything.

Plus Garret's utensils are in his wife's purse so....no ability to make big decisions.

The should just stop punting, go for it on every 4th, always try an onside kick and blitz on every defensive play. Go out in a blaze of ginger glory Garrett.

All kidding aside we should do some high risk taking stuff down the stretch.

That is how many coaches have changed the environment and how guys like sean Payton have created an identity.

I read that this year the league as a whole as has attempted to convert on 4th down much more than previous years.

That's in large part due to when it's 3rd and 6-7 they draw a flag which, in the case of this team, puts them in a position of fourth and 3-4.

We don't have the luxury of running it at that point. JMO, Of course.

With so many offenses putting up a ton of points, field goals are becoming less valuable.

Obviously you can't take any man that says "winner winner chicken dinner" a 100% serious, but there's some good stuff in there.

I heard this fact on Fox Sports radio last week. Is this indicative of anything or just a irrelevant, useless tidbit of information?

Yes, coaches that go for it on 4th down in the NFL more are more successful (i.e. Belichick, Parcells, etc).

There has been statistical studies done using giant sample sizes that show that teams would be far more successful going for it on 4th down every time than never going for it on 4th down.

Garrett is basically employing a Nick Saban approach to the game. Which is great when you have by far the best talent in the game. In the NFL, the playing field is much more level.
