The Cowboys have outscored their opponents 137-85 in the 4th quarter so far this year. There is a reason Mike Woicik has 6 SB rings. NFL games are won and lost in the 4th quarter and the 'Boys are even better in the 4th the last 5 games than earlier in the year (possibly because of lesser foes).

The Cowboys are no doubt a second half team. It's just so pathetic that the players are never ready to play at the start of the game. All because of coaching.

Yeah just blame the coach. The players get no blame at all.

lol On a scale of 1 to 10, how mad are you that Garrett is going to be here atleast anothiner year?

A fair amount of that is also when we were so far behind the other team was if not playing prevent certainly not playing D as hard as earlier in the game. So that is a little misleading.

And our horrendous starts to games is not something that is remotely a good thing.

But isn't prevent defense set up to prevent lots of scoring?

Bingo! It's actually problematic.

Dallas should speed the offense up from the get go. Last week we scored 10 points in 52 mins, then in the last 8 mins we put up the same amount. The hurry up is a big part of why we've been so successful in second halves, especially fourth quarters. Hurrying up the offense would also slowdown the pass rush.

It's such a no brainer.

Garrett doesn't adjust until we're in a hole and he just hopes Romo can bail us out. It's sad to see our team not put in the best position to succeed week after week.

You realize that part of scoring well in the second half is having a coaching staff that can exploit the weaknesses of the other team that got exposed in the first half. Scoring more in the second half than the first is a sign of good coaching. It means you are out-adjusting the competition.

LOL do you watch the games?

Their exploiting 90% of the time is Romo buying time and making a big play outside of the system.

The last couple of weeks we've seen a couple of nice plays dialed up to Austin on a TD and Dez on a TD but most of the time it's just Romo running around making a play.

Our offense sucks and is outdated. If we had a 49ers Oline matched with disciplined receivers and a take care of the ball at all times QB then yeah it would be ok.

Dallas needs to scrap all of that first half BS and go to more of a New England Patriots style offense or at least just do what we do when we've dug ourselves a hole.

This team is better with a street ball / backyard style mentality. End of story.

Nice over-generalization there. They say conclusions are places at which people arrive when get tired of thinking.

Lol. A positive thread about 4th quarter scoring inexplicably reveals yet another problem with the team's coaching. Who knew? I'm feeling really enlightened over here. Thanks, everybody!

Maybe, but that would seem to dictate dominant 3rd quarter scoring.

And that isnt the case

I know.

This is one thing we're really good at.

I'm not sure it should be discredited.

exactly. Clearly what is changed at Halftime does not work so they have to do something else for the 4th qtr. Not a good sign

Not sure I've seen a thread leap to more unsupported conclusions in order to justify feeling depressed than this one. And that's saying something.

Meanwhile, 4 of 5, and hoping for 5 of 6 if we can keep up the strong 4th quarter play this weekend.
