Btw, Dak will earn over 400M from his time in Dallas.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I didn't even think of that. That's kind of a shortsighted and simplistic way of thinking. Over the life of the contract, the cap hits average out lower by extending them after 3 years. But you saw it. I guess it isn't a terrible SOP.Fifth-year option is expensive, so they try to bring the number down. Tyler's under contract for $4 million this year. That's cheaper than what we paid for some less talented FAs. I think that's all the Joneses see. His fifth-year option is $21 million, so they will be motivated then.
Against the cap in 2025? That would be impossible. The biggest cap hit you get is from your first round pick. Take Bo Nix from last year picked at #12. His cap hit was 3.3M. The 2nd and 3rd round picks add up to another 2.5 to 3M. That's at most just over 6M. No way it gets to 11M with picks 5 through 7. They make nothing in the first year. Do we have a lot of 3rd round comp picks?11M is the estimate for our draft class.
Jerry does not want to win. He doesn't care.We are talking about $38,434,999 to be exact. Jerry just isn't himself anymore, its easy to see but his moron son is scared of him. He made big moves with Deion and such, but now he would rather just drink his troubles away and miss out on opportunities cause his moron son is more worried about the money coming in than winning.
Jerry wants to win, as cheaply as possible with the massive influence by the moron. When he fired Jimmy, we should've known that he thought he knew more about football than he does. Now I don't think the moron will want to be a coach like Jerry does, but he is very cheap. So it is what it is.
There is no evidence of that.Jerry wants to win
let me put it this way. He wants to win since no one wants to lose. There is no evidence of that.
I believe there are 10 picks for us?Against the cap in 2025? That would be impossible. The biggest cap hit you get is from your first round pick. Take Bo Nix from last year picked at #12. You could be right. But keep in mind the cap hit doesn't have to be 900k in the first year. It could be 200k and more in the following years. Remember, we're just talking cap hits for 2025.I believe there are 10 picks for us?
League min for rooks is at least 900K
gotta pay them.
I don't hand out multimillion contracts, but I'm sure it's a lot harder to make those decisions than we'd like to believe. Football is a rough sport that can take a player down in an instant. Despite being billionaires, I'm sure these NFL owners don't want to be on the books for a lot of guaranteed money if something happens before a contract comes due. Plus, it does affect the cap they have to work with.I think you hit the nail on the head. I didn't even think of that. That's kind of a shortsighted and simplistic way of thinking. Over the life of the contract, the cap hits average out lower by extending them after 3 years. But you saw it. I guess it isn't a terrible SOP.
Had Zeke not forced the extension after 3 years, Dallas would have had more than just one bad cap hit.
The way the NFL cap works would put the bookies for the mob to shameYou could be right. But keep in mind the cap hit doesn't have to be 900k in the first year. It could be 200k and more in the following years. Remember, we're just talking cap hits for 2025.
yup.You could be right. But keep in mind the cap hit doesn't have to be 900k in the first year. It could be 200k and more in the following years. Remember, we're just talking cap hits for 2025.
They wont spend more than 5 mil of that on bargain bin guys, and some on draft picks. With the draft coming up, we will need to pay our rookies, so there's a little fee for that. You may not get the guy that you want, so after the draft we may look at sign a few veterans who we have on our radar. We're clearly mindful of the comp pick formula timeframe which is sometime after the draft (April 28th?).
You sign Micah Parsons finally to his mega deal, and you gain more money.
It'll be interesting to see how much of it we use, and how much we roll over. If I'm the Cowboys, I lock up Tyler Smith also. But what do I know, I'm just a guy with a family, who wants your thoughts! Please give me your thoughts!

He wants to win on his terms, meaning he gets all the credit for winning as cheap as possible. There is no evidence of that.
Thanks for letting everyone know!!! Superbowl time baby!!!There is evidence of that.
With JJ's track record, he waits until a player has him by the ball sack before he will sit down and talk turkey about an extension. He is his worst enemy when it comes to acting like a bonafide GM in the NFL.With the draft coming up, we will need to pay our rookies, so there's a little fee for that. But big dog is right on this. So are you. But don't even give Jerry the credit for wanting to win. He doesn't deserve it because the effort isn't there. No matter how much he wants to win, he's perfectly ok with not trying. He wants to win on his terms, meaning he gets all the credit for winning as cheap as possible.
He's a billionaire, but the money doesn't matter to him, he wants to feel smart too. That idiot is taking the Cowboys and us down with his ego.
dude, the boys have plenty of cap space but they keep misusing it.yup.
Usually the 1st round picks are the contracts that are GTD. So looking at 4 yrs 15M? they can work those numbers.
Just not a lot of cap left to work with.
That why we have Grier and Milton at QB2/3. 1M each.
That's what I thought too. I thought he was nuts with the 11M. But we have 10 picks. If 7 of those picks are going to be 800-900k against the cap, along with our first three picks, it could be around 11m.dude, the boys have plenty of cap space but they keep misusing it.
ONCE AND FOR ALL, do your own search on the rookie cap hit and you will find that your claim of $11 million is more than double what it will be
