So at the beginning of the year the Cowboys were "supposed" to have a young and below-average offensive line, however, as of right now they are one of the top O-lines in the league giving up only 3 sacks combined in the last 3 games now that's amazing. Not only that the Cowboys are so deep at the O-line that they're able to rotate three guys in at left guard which is unheard of in the NFL.

"able to"

Being able to rotate 3 guys with mediocre or worse play is not the kind of depth I'm interested in.

Peters has been the best, and he's been mediocre. McGovern and Farniok have played poorly, and Biadasz hasn't been much better.

Peters probably ramps up to a decent to good LG.

I expected better with McGovern, and he has been better in previous years. But this year he's been poor, as has been Farniok, and they're our depth for the entire oline, whether they're filling in for the interior oline, or backfilling the oline if a T goes down and we move Peters out.

The Cowboys are 25th in yards per rush attempt. Run blocking needs to improve.

Rotating 3 guys at LG is less than ideal. Hopefully, someone runs with that position and the unit becomes more cohesive.

Yup. Pass blocking is inflated by faster than normal release. Run blocking (especially against teams that load up against the run) has been shoddy.

OL could potentially offer chance to power run at goal line in the playoffs with:
Tyron, Peter, Biadasz, Martin, Steele and Tyler Smith as a FB and Connor McGovern as a TE.

Guys gotta get healthy and stay healthy but depth could be very real come playoffs.

Red zone offense definitely missing Dak's ability to scramble to create time for receivers and also his ability to run it in.

Plus side to that ugly rotation is a lot of guys are getting snaps.
If you need one because of an injury ding he isn't cold and has been preparing weekly and playing some.

I think they expect Peters to win that job this year but he's not in 100% shape yet.
And they want to keep other guys involved.

Agreed for sure but with rookie TE's and no fullback having the quality spare OL who can stack in the box will be nasty to defend.
Zeke, Dak and a big OL is really tough to stop.
But with more finesse OL like CWill it was tough to just run straight ahead.

The Cowboys took some risks (at least they seemed to be risks to a lot of us) that have turned out well for them. It's the front office and coaches' jobs to make sure they have the players they need, and they deserve credit with doing a better job with this than many thought they had done.

lol wut? Dak scrambling? we havent seen that since his ankle injury. did you not see Rush scrambling in the red zone and throwing a dart into the end zone to Gallup? Im not saying Rush is big scrambler but we arent missing much in that category compared to what Dak is able to do today.

Deep? Mgovern is starting and he sucks. Farniok is the backup and he sucks. Our backup tackles suck. Peters seems solid, but havent seen much of him. We are one big injury away from being a bad Oline again.

If Peters can start playing regularly at guard and we stay healthy and McGovern and Farniok stay on the bench, then I think we can be a top 10 Oline. But thats a tall order.

Zeke is averaging 3.8 ypc. How he is tough to stop?

Excellent point, but allot of it has to do with Rush's 2nd quickest release (as of today) in the NFL, only Tom Brady is graded higher.

how many times has been Brady been sacked with his rocket release?

Played out much better than I thought it would.
The Peters move was a good signing.
Just wished they would have done it sooner so he could have gotten into game shape to start the season.
I was wrong about Tyler, he has been an asset from the getgo.

They have played very good ball, have to admit though when I saw Zack Martin on the ground holding his ankle I got scared.

I agree, also expect the Oline to improve as they settle in with the starting 5. Peters only played 22% in his 1st game and 34% of the same in his 2nd. This Oline is still gelling, not fully set. In my view what makes an OL great is 5 guys working in unison, right now we have guys coming in and out of the game at LG

Of the 3 guys, 2 have never approached NFL average play and one wasn't on the roster until recently and can't yet play FT. I'd say the concerns were justified and still are since Peters is likely not here next year and I'd also say I don't see having those 3 at LG would be considered "unheard of in the NFL".
