From the Cowboy's recent history and what they've been saying:
Free Agents:
Lawrence is a priority but negotiations are really slow. Cheap team friendly deals for squad players that are straightforward. Priced out of Hitchens as we were for Murray/Church. A 2nd round tender on Irving that nobody matches. A late deal for Martin that gives us room to sign our draft picks. Cheap JAG's equivalent to Carroll, Paea, Cooper, Bell etc filling out the roster that has people saying we don't need to draft for need.
Draft:
Rd 1:
Option 1: Trade up for Derwin James.
Option 2: Slap backs, and put in card if Edmunds/Smith are there. But most likely just take Wynn
Option 3: Trade back and take Evans, Hernandez or one of the talented G/C prospects
**This really depends on the fall of the draft and offer we get to trading back**
Rd 2 & 3:
2 x WR's: Replace Butler and F you move to Dez is putting him in purgatory. TW has a Scandrick esk sulk as he realizes he's got one year before we'll look to trade. It fits the draft strength, and just as with CB last year (Claiborne/Carr) we're going to take a chance on the kids. Dez stays around keeping Dallas constantly in the papers with theories of keeping him, trading him and a pay cut...Eventually, we just cut him. It's Jerry 101.
Rd 4 Picks
LB's: We flesh out the roster replacing JAG's like Durant and Wilbur to sub in for a few snaps on defense and play a big ST part.
Rd 5 picks
SS or OG: Whatever we didn't do in Rd 1.
3rd down back: A Dunbar replacement
Rd 6 picks
We take two guys the front office thought should go in the 4th with no regard for position.
Rd 7:
Some JAG OT that doesn't make the 53 and instead goes to the practice squad before being snaped up by the Broncos and becoming the worst OT regular starter in the league.
