Perspective. When we look at the Cowboys performance using the common year of 2000 for all 4 teams in the NFC East, the numbers speak for themselves. Pretty good regular season numbers. Embarrassing playoff numbers.

Regular Season Wins since 2000
  • Philadelphia : 242
  • Dallas: 217
  • New York: 186
  • Washington: 170
Playoff Wins since 2000
  • Philadelphia: 19
  • New York: 11
  • Dallas: 4
  • Washington: 3
Conference Championship Appearances since 2000
  • Philadelphia: 8
  • New York: 3
  • Washington: 1
  • Dallas: 0
Super Bowl Appearances and Wins since 2000
  • Philadelphia: 4 appearances, 2 wins
  • New York: 3 appearances, 2 wins
  • Dallas: Zero appearances
  • Washington: Zero appearances
A comparison of Cowboys playoff performance 20th century vs 21st century
  • Cowboys Playoff wins 1966 (first year Cowboys made the playoffs) -1999: 32 playoff wins in 34 seasons
  • Cowboys Playoff wins 2000-2024: 4 playoff wins in 25 seasons
Whatever we think about anyone associated with this team, these are the facts.

Remove the past. Think the present is fine. We The Jones Boys age like whiskey and wines. May we bask in the Jimmy times Triplets Stars Divine. The future will be brighter when The Eagle subsides and The Stsr will shine.

It's just gonna get harder from here on out from an NFC East perspective. Eagles are always tough, now Washington has JD and their defense will only get better under DQ, Giants will be drafting a QB early and will probably contend.

I wouldn’t be surprised with a 4th place finish in or division next season. I’m not trying to be negative, I’m feeling negative, but when Dak was healthy we beat the Giants but it was very unimpressive. I remember it was an ugly game for us offensively. Realistically thinking I don’t feel the Giants will be an easy sweep as in past years. Unless Jerry does something in FA, not counting on it, we are closer to the talent level of the Giants than we are to Washington and Philly.

You have to be over thirty to even remember that,
I was 30 the last time they played in a super bowl - I turn 60 in August. There is no doubt that old fans like you and me will probably take our last breath and never get to witness another championship. At least while a Jones is still running the team

I never wanted to know how Cubs fans felt, but here we are. Their drought lasted 107 years - only 77 more years to go to beat that streak of misery.

What is this “perceived drought” you speak of? Zero accountability equals no change.

There is no universe where the management of a franchise would not be fired for this kind of performance, except the Jerryverse.

But all that past can be undone by one SB appearance so we have to look to the future. I realize hope is fading. But I cannot imagine Dallas going 50 years without a SB appearance. At 72, I can't wait another 20 years but I have more hopes I will reach 92 than I do that Dallas will make it to another SB.

I would love to ask Stephen Jones about his “perceptions” of what equals a “drought”. Along with what his “qualifications” were when he first became VP of whatever….besides his birth certificate.
Jerry at 82: "I'm the man for the job...". The only consolation I have these days is when Jerry blows his top because he can't lasso people into his gaslit world as easily as in the past. The temper tantrums are going to get worse.

I know what the Philly fans are feeling today. Pride, happiness and a sense of belonging, rockin Eagles apparel. I once felt that about the Cowboys. Jimmy Johnson's teams had swagger and purpose and were business oriented and such a cohesive unit (3) I miss those days here in Dallas. A generation has grown up without ever seeing the Lombardi hoisted up in Dallas. Jerry is so delusional and hell bent on doing it his way without anyone else getting credit. He will fail to his dying breath. His eyes tell me that he is near the end of his choo-choo ride anyway. But his heirs give me no confidence unless they hire outsiders to come in and run this thing properly. Hope this new staff can make lemonade out of lemons.

...yep, pretty dire. Maybe Shotty will change that. ;).
