The Cowboys performance vs the NFC East since 2000

I would love to ask Stephen Jones about his “perceptions” of what equals a “drought”. Along with what his “qualifications” were when he first became VP of whatever….besides his birth certificate.
You will get an answer with air quotes.

Perspective. When we look at the Cowboys performance using the common year of 2000 for all 4 teams in the NFC East, the numbers speak for themselves. Pretty good regular season numbers. Embarrassing playoff numbers.

Regular Season Wins since 2000
  • Philadelphia : 242
  • Dallas: 217
  • New York: 186
  • Washington: 170
Playoff Wins since 2000
  • Philadelphia: 19
  • New York: 11
  • Dallas: 4
  • Washington: 3
Conference Championship Appearances since 2000
  • Philadelphia: 8
  • New York: 3
  • Washington: 1
  • Dallas: 0
Super Bowl Appearances and Wins since 2000
  • Philadelphia: 4 appearances, 2 wins
  • New York: 3 appearances, 2 wins
  • Dallas: Zero appearances
  • Washington: Zero appearances
A comparison of Cowboys playoff performance 20th century vs 21st century
  • Cowboys Playoff wins 1966 (first year Cowboys made the playoffs) -1999: 32 playoff wins in 34 seasons
  • Cowboys Playoff wins 2000-2024: 4 playoff wins in 25 seasons
Whatever we think about anyone associated with this team, these are the facts.

That is pathetic for the Cowboys. There's not really another way to call it, and there are no two ways about it. It's pathetic.

I know what the Philly fans are feeling today. Pride, happiness and a sense of belonging, rockin Eagles apparel. I once felt that about the Cowboys. Jimmy Johnson's teams had swagger and purpose and were business oriented and such a cohesive unit (3) I miss those days here in Dallas. A generation has grown up without ever seeing the Lombardi hoisted up in Dallas. Jerry is so delusional and hell bent on doing it his way without anyone else getting credit. He will fail to his dying breath. His eyes tell me that he is near the end of his choo-choo ride anyway. But his heirs give me no confidence unless they hire outsiders to come in and run this thing properly. Hope this new staff can make lemonade out of lemons.
I'm getting close to 70 and I feel like I may pass on before seeing another Lombardi.

That’s just “cherry picking” a quarter of a century …

Look just because they're facts and you made it true by cherry picking 2000 but just keep it from 1960 to now and it changes the whole landscape I like how you try to cancel what happened in the 90s to bolster your narrative I get it we're in a drought I'd like to know what the Kansas City Chiefs did and that 56 year drought between Super Bowls I wonder what their records look like stacked up against the Dallas Cowboys because right now we're not even halfway there to what they had to experience to finally win another Super Bowl so go ahead cherry pick years to suit narratives this is what you get yes those facts are true but only if you start at 2000 and get rid of two of the Dallas Cowboys dynasties which absolutely can't be canceled cultured...

It all counts and that's why the Dallas Cowboys is still a top five team all time in regular season wins playoff wins and championship appearances and championship wins literally you can't take that away and I know you're gonna tell me about it only matters since you started a 2000 no that's not how I look at it it's a drought and I've seen teams go through worse and we're not stacking those up in this debate but when you can't win even a division since 1990 which would be the Cleveland Browns I guess it extends from the old Cleveland Browns and the new Cleveland Browns that's pretty sad there are worse teams to be a fan of than the Dallas Cowboys at least we have history we have historical history and it'll get turned around someday it'll be a shock and a surprise and we'll make a little run as well it happened to the New York Giants coming back from a wild card spot not having great regular season success and end up beating Tom Brady in the New England Patriots twice it it just happened sometimes it comes out of nowhere and it will..

Facts sting !!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerry at 82: "I'm the man for the job...". The only consolation I have these days is when Jerry blows his top because he can't lasso people into his gaslit world as easily as in the past. The temper tantrums are going to get worse.
That is the only thing I’m looking forward to next season!
Seeing Jerry and his giant ego getting hammered each week as the losses start mounting up!

Jerry is shocked that Dallas wasn’t in the SB last Sunday, Stevie says there’s no drought, you know we won 3 SBs here fans don’t appreciate what we have done in Dallas

Really? Most people posting here weren't alive in 1960. He set a realistic timeline that emcompasses the full effect of when the salary cap era affected the team. And I think most people can figure out that changing at the turn of the century is an easy mark to follow.

You have to be over thirty to even remember that,
I'm actually 34 and vaguely remember them winning the Super Bowl out in Arizona. I remember that they won, but don't remember watching.

Elway's two Super Bowl wins were the first ones I remember being captivated by.

so how much are you paid to toe the Jethro line?

Yes, those are the facts in the first quarter of this century. Miserable.

Our glory years can now be considered, "antique".

The next quarter century only has a chance if Jerry Jones's replacement does the right thing.

Yet, we don't even really know if he sees the Light or becomes an even worse version of Jerry.

I don't recall signing a pact with the devil that gave me those three Super Bowls in exchange for never winning another in my lifetime. However, I must have. Maybe I was really drunk at the time, Landry had just been fired.......I don't know......

The Cowboys past glories have not been forgotten. They have just reached the stage of "antique".

An entire generation of young people, those born 1995 to now, have never witnessed a Cowboys team in a conference championship game, much less a Super Bowl.

Who will be willing to carry the Cowboys legacy forward?

I think Jerry signed a deal with the devil when he wanted Switzer to win a Super Bowl with Jimmy’s players. Well Switzer got him his Super Bowl and Jerry proved to all of us how he won a Super Bowl without Jimmy. :muttley:
