I think that there is one possible battle for a starting job, and that's between Terrance Wilkiams and Bryce Butler. I think that if Williams continues to look inconsistant and Butler turns potential into productivity, that he could conceivably pass him for that #2 receiver role.

Other than that, the only other battle will be between Devin Street and the undrafted free agents for a roster spot.

Given the numbers they're likely to keep at quarterback, running back, and tight end, I expect the team to keep only 5 wide receivers this year.

I think Williams is going to win that battle and it won't be particularly close. Still kinda pissed about that disappearing act last year, but I was pissed about a whole lot of things that went down with this team last year. But Williams could be a hell of a receiver if he decides he wants to be, especially when he's got Romo throwing to him.

I'm not so sure Whitehead even makes the team.

We do badly need a bump in special teams though.

Either way it goes, I hope either one of or both of them step up in that role. No matter who wins, the Cowboys will be better for it.

Totally agree. I think TWill will have a decent season because Romo makes him a better WR than he is. I think he leave for a FA contract elsewhere, also if we had been able to trade down and picked up additional 2nd round picks we would have taken one of the available WRs like Sterling Sheppard, Tyler Boyd or Michael Thomas.

Homerism?

Tend to overrate talent the Cowboys acquire, etc. Shoot, they start the article citing the "influx of talented UDFAs" at WR then go on to say that 3 UDFAs could replace Butler, Street and Whitehead on the roster.

One, that's probably unlikely and two, UDFAs are UDFAs for a reason. Rarely do they make such an impact as they are apparently opining here.

Just my impression by Landry's Hat tends to be more optimistic than most and in come cases warrants.

I think Street is as good as gone.. Wanted to like him but he has shown absolutely NOTHING.
