Going into Week 17, the Dallas Cowboys weren't sure who they would face in the playoffs. They now know they will play the Detroit Lions. Even before Dallas played Washington in the final regular season game, the odds were that they would be the third seed in the NFC. Because they won the NFC East they would host a first-round game. The question was mainly between facing Green Bay or Detroit. Those two teams faced off at Lambeau Filed for the rights to the NFC North championship, with Green Bay coming out on top, 30-20

Dallas would have needed losses from both Seattle and Arizona to have some hope of changing their seed; Seattle beat St. Louis 20-6 while Arizona did lose to San Francisco 20-17. Carolina trounced Atlanta 34-3 to win the NFC South. Those results produced the following playoff standings:

1. Seattle (first-round bye, home field throughout)
2. Green Bay (first-round bye, host division playoff game)
3. Dallas (host wild-card game vs. Detroit)
4. Carolina (host wild-card game vs. Arizona)
5. Arizona (@ Carolina wild-card game)
6. Detroit (@ Dallas wild-card game)

Does anyone know what networks are carrying the wild card games. I only see three on NBC, CBS, and Fox.

And Fox just said we will play on Sunday - still don't know what time but I bet it's the late game.

ESPN carries one Wild Card game I believe.

Thanks. Wow, so without cable or satellite people don't get all of the playoff games. That's the first time I've seen that happen.

We easily have the toughest road to the Super Bowl. But there's hope. Detroit is good but nothing amazing. We're a better team than them. If we can't beat them, we deserve all the ridicule we'd get. The next would be in Green Bay. Hard to fault us if we can't pull out a win in that one. Green Bay in January has always been the toughest place to play in the NFL. And they have Aaron Rodgers. Honestly, I think Green Bay is a little overrated. They've lost 4 times this year with a healthy Rodgers, while you could make the argument that we're undefeated with a healthy Romo. Also, they've had a lot of unimpressive wins. They also played NFC South this year, while we played the NFC West. That all being said, it's still the Packers in Green Bay in January. Not to mention, if any team(s) can beat us this year, I think it's teams that can pick us apart with their passing game (only Green Bay, Denver and New England, in my opinion). If we manage to beat Green Bay, we'd all but certainly go to Seattle (I don't see Seattle losing to Arizona/Carolina). As tough a place Seattle is to play, that game honestly doesn't scare me. I've thought the Seahawks were frauds all year. They were 3-3 in the tough part of their schedule and 9-1 since then. But they've had the easiest 10 game schedule in the NFL, in my opinion. And they've squeaked out more wins against 3rd string QBs than any #1 overall seed I can ever remember. I think we match up well against Seattle. They can shut down a one-dimensional offense like Denver or Green Bay, but I don't think the shut down us. The NFL is all about match ups. I think we have a better chance losing to Detroit than Seattle. Detroit is the best run defense and has a Stafford to Megatron secret weapon that can destroy us. Seattle is a pass defense team with a running QB. They don't scare me. But, all that being said, it's still Seattle in Seattle.

Curt Menefee said it which means Fox will probably carry our game. I hate Joe Buck doing a playoff game of ours.

i love when he leaves to cover baseball.

him not being there was a big reason we won against seattle.

everything goes right for the opposing team when he calls a dallas game...he's bad luck ..plain and simple.

having said that...i don't care who calls this game.

this team here can whip anyone's *** in the nfl if we play like we are capable of playing.

we're really going to be good when we shore up this defense.

Yeah I do too. If we win,he will no doubt do the GB game as well. Dude just bring bad vibes to any Cowboy broadcast. And if we win that he obviously does the Champ. Game. In other words, we're stuck with that dope.
