I don't expect too much early in the season.. I will be happy if we see improvement in the second half.

We're gonna dominate this year.

It's gonna be on with our new pass rush posse.

Something tells me, that's gonna change the whole dynamic of this team.

There are other ways to win than what the Eagles and Chiefs have been doing. A top pass rush can keep your team above .500. And then all you need is a shot at a playoff spot.

That said, we need to be a dynamic team in other areas. But I think with the line looking like it could be dominant, that helps give our team a swagger and makes it easier for the offense if they can take more cracks at it. The only thing is sacks and all of those stats don't guarantee a QB won't go off and dice up your defense.defense anyway. It obviously helps. But you need a rounded team.

My favorite drafter after Blue is actually Toia. He's gonna be money.

With this schedule and these many flaws on the roster this is barely a .500 team next season if all goes right. Schedule is brutal. Cowboys still suspect at OT, DT, CB (all injured), Safety, WR2 and WR3, LB and RB

They have to hit on every draft pick being an immediate impact to really improve and have the 2nd and 3rd year guys take a major leap forward. Chances are slim thats gonna happen.

And 9-8 may get you into the playoffs. If they do indeed put out there a physical, productive running game one that can consistently get you 2 or 3 first downs in a row when you need it, that will pay off late in the season.

Bingo!! I really want to see a physical team. The quotes coming out about Booker being a “classy bully” or something to that effect is exactly what I want. For me this season is about laying a foundation for the future. So I’m not going to get super high or super low (lol, I say that now in May but we’ll see when the season starts). I can take losses this season if our guys aren’t getting punked up and down the field. I want our team to be the bullies. Be the classy bullies in the run game, on both sides of the ball. If we do that I feel we will have a successful season.

But I feel our 12-5 seasons we were not the bullies in the trenches and come playoff time it showed. This year I feel we are laying the foundation for it. So I’m excited about this season but also the future. I like the plan.

Slim but not impossible. The OT is the X factor this season. The good news about that is it’s a possibility and probable that we will get better T play out of Steele(a year removed from injury) and Guyton(2nd year improvement)

CB, LB, safety are concerns tho regardless if Guyton and Steele get better. I’m really hoping Jay, the 7th rounder this year, is like the old Jay Ratliff, also a 7th rounder. Looking forward to preseason to see these guys.

They are going to come from the very back that everyone says we’re gonna be last and just about anything and everything in here, keep telling me that we’re going to be worse than last year that they did nothing to improve and we lost more players and we put back.

They will be that long shot horse and are going to come around the final stretch and will at least make the NFC championship game this year.

I was Cowboys will be the shock of this NFL season, just like Washington was last year, just like we’ve seen the Jets ,we seen one time the Jaguars did it , they are coming.

Coaching staffs gonna be the best teachers schemers, play collars and game planners we’ve had in a decade they’re gonna take an average team and take them to the championship game!

This is my crazy prediction.

You know the running back by committee. Everybody seems to be against here, but Christian McCaffrey didn’t help their cause. I mean they did the same thing without him They’ve done it before without one back that’s great.

The only disclaimer I’m putting on it if we’re riddled with injury like last year and lost too many key players, I Reserve the right to take it back , but if we have a healthy season, at least relatively normal season of injuries for the NFL ,nothing crazy ,

we are going to the NFC championship game.

Dang, Jerry you are up to your old tricks. Make ‘em believe that we can win a playoff game, heck why not the SB. Jethro always wins the SB right after the draft, always. He just forgets all about it in December. Please don’t fall for this. We don’t have a D line that can stop the run. We are short linebackers and cornerbacks. We don’t know what we have at RB and we have one receiver. The O line is better, however any one expecting Dak to play well is overly optimistic. I see Milton starting before the end of the season. I'll better explain what I mean. There are times when injuries can devastate a team. Remember the 49ers the year after they lost the SB to the Chiefs? Injuries ravaged that team. At some point you can have enough injuries where it is impossible to recover from.

I agree, I just think its an extremely subjective topic. SF was absolutely destroyed by injury and had no chance. Even in the NFCCG in 2023 they had no chance as they had to line up McCaffrey at QB for some snaps and put Purdy back in at one point when he could barely throw the ball.

At the end of the year fans of almost every team in the league can squint hard enough to see what they want, and come away saying 'man if player x had just stayed healthy we would have been a better team'. Personally I don't think the Cowboys issues in 2024 were due to injury as much as they were simply not a very good football team. Yes they probably win an extra game or two with some better luck, but it was still a flawed roster from the start.
