The cowboys will shock the nfl this year!

I do have a good feeling about Shotty and the staff hires. Even better about our draft picks. Only issue is we need a vet CB and wr. I think we will be set after that.

Did you ever play at a place with chicken wire to protect y'all? Lol

I know a lot of people who play but very few have the guts to play in public
Chicken wire is for beginners! I used to play at a place that had razor wire and that was for the protection of the general populous.

As to the question, I could see a mild surprise provided the team has good fortune in staying healthy, and benefits from division rivals being not so fortunate.

Don’t see a shocker in the cards though. I think they have the potential to beat the 7.5 wins total, as set in Vegas, by a couple games which would register as surprising. Shocking to me we equal something like 2 playoff wins and I just don’t see it.

It depends on how well the cowboys can run the ball, and on how much they run it.

A good run game shortens the games, dominate TOP, keeps the other team on sidelines for longer
periods , and can help the passing game.
So a lot this first year depends on the run game and play calling, and play design.

Oh and being tough and mean lol.

Winning 10 games would be a shock to most people.
Would also tell the Jones idiots that they are getting “closer” and ignoring free agency is working.

If you don’t root for that, I guess you’re not a “real fan.”

If nothing happens to promote significant change, nothing will.

Well Blue, I disagree but I respect your audacity in posting this.

What makes this forum great is having a place where Cowboys fans can express whatever opinions they have about the team without being attacked or ridiculed. You have planted a flag and have every right to do that and should not be harassed for having this opinion.

Which should be about everyone’s opinions here. Even the alleged “negative” opinions (which are subjectively judged anyway)

What keeps me from joining your take is I believe for us to make that leap will require several miracles…which are always are a possibility regardless of probability. But the holes in our roster going into this off-season were so numerous I can’t just jump into believing that somehow this front office gets a mega-dose of full on Lady Luck favor. Jerry torpedoed an entire season last year and IMO it will take some time to recover.

But if your prediction comes true I will be thrilled. If it doesn’t don’t get mad at anyone who predicted it wouldn’t. Fairness should always respect all opinions.
Exactly you could say you don't think they did well in the draft, you can say they didn't do well in free agency, you could say we lost more than we gained, and I think it's quite the opposite..

it may not be the spectacular all in offseason anyone hopes for, it or the bigger names from the draft everybody hoped for, but I believe they do have a vision they do have a plan, and they're executing the plan through off season and draft and they're connecting everything to what they plan on doing,
which none of us know...

Since we don't know what their plan is. nobody in here can say this off season was bad. and that we didn't improve. and we're worse at every position and every group...TBD stay tuned
because we have a new coaching staff we have a new culture brewing whether it's going to be better or ever change we don't know, but they're making an effort with this new group and this new group of players is not going to be last year ,if you just take the injuries alone out of the equation, and then you add a better scheme better teachers better coaching ,
they can take this at least a bit further, we don't know you don't know anything you don't know any more than I do, you think you know ,because you saw names and we saw kind of names like this in the past we saw paper champions before not workout...

It is bold, I'm pushing my chips to the middle of the table, Please don't splash the pot lol if you know the reference to the movie I'm speaking then you might get this,

because I'm tired of hearing the negativity,

so for once I'm just being positive, i'm trusting the new coaching staff, and what they've done so far in free agency what they're going to do more in free agency how they're going to figure out what players deserve to stay and which players they need to cut, and then they're going to bring in more players, they're going to go through training camp and preseason and see if these draft picks are better than expected and then we'll find out no one gets to know who was right or wrong until February.. And in the fact that this coaching staff is working from a position of strength this isn't a lame duck coaching staff this is a comfortable staff and I believe you could take Brian's shot and Heimer out of the equation I think he's assembled one of the better assistant coaching staffs from top to bottom than we've had here in a decade or more he could go further back this could go back to the 90s I think there's some young hungry very passionate coaches they brought in they're going to be the group that believes in the trenches believes in being tough and physical...

It's hard to sit here from whoever's chairs writing and try to tell me you're right or I'm trying to tell you I'm right these are all opinions and every once in a while a team can catch lightning in a bottle along with a little luck having some draft picks that were unexpectedly great you know the guys like Deron Bland how do we know a couple of these defensive tackles aren't going to be the next Iran bland types where it shock you or getting a guy like Thomas and Bell who are future safeties they came out of nowhere this could be the year that we get surprised..

Now enjoy your weekend....

If @blueblood70 is correct, all you naysayers are not allowed on the wagon to celebrate. You will be too busy crying and the team did not suck, so you can say you were right.

And if he is wrong, thumping your chests proves I am right, as you are TEAM FAIL over Dallas Fans.
Right and I exposed myself and I am not saying that if this turns out to be a terrible season that I'm going to Canada where I'm going to delete my account or I'm disappearing for three months I will sit here and take my lumps....

I disagree. None of us as forum members get to decide what opinions are “bad” vs “good” (unless someone is breaking the rules - then that opinion is invalidated by lack of respect for the rules we ALL agreed to follow when we signed up here)

The assessment of opinions is not a math problem. It too is an opinion. If someone thinks a certain player or coach is either great or sucks, that’s an opinion. If someone says for the hundredth time they like or don’t like someone or something, that’s just their opinion.

One of the most humorous things I ever read on this forum is someone saying, “I’m so tired of this negative stuff. All we get around here is negative opinions.” Which is of course a VERY negative opinion as well, LOL!

IMO…some of the most negative things ever said on this forum occur when someone says “this is just another negative thread”, “everything you say is negative” or “oh, another negative thread about _____.”

What’s more negative on an opinion forum than people complaining about “all the negativity around here”.
We all decide on what is good and what is bad based on our backgrounds and past experiences as well as upbringing.

Winning 10 games and getting blown out in the playoffs, with half our fans blaming Dak, is not getting closer. Especially when you have $38M+(after Micah is signed) money sitting their in salary cap space.

...and that's all you needed to say, BB, you're simply going on faith & hope. I can't hate on that.

I think sooo much has to go right for this team even to win 10 games (staying healthy, young draftees playing well, coaching staff outcoaching their opponents more often than not, etc.), let alone for them to make the playoffs and win a playoff game. o_O It all just seems a bit out of reach this season, in Shotty's first season. For me, if this 2025 Dallas team even wins 10 games and earns a wildcard spot, I'd be wholly impressed.

The people who are on Team Fail are the Jones (in terms of football anyway).
Most fans on this board know this and are sick knowing this is unlikely to change any time soon!
Hence the negativity!

This 2025 Team will go to the NFC championship game.

They are going to come from the very back that everyone says we’re gonna be last and just about anything and everything in here, keep telling me that we’re going to be worse than last year that they did nothing to improve and we lost more players and we put back.

They will be that long shot horse and are going to come around the final stretch and will at least make the NFC championship game this year.

I was Cowboys will be the shock of this NFL season, just like Washington was last year, just like we’ve seen the Jets ,we seen one time the Jaguars did it , they are coming.

Coaching staffs gonna be the best teachers schemers, play collars and game planners we’ve had in a decade they’re gonna take an average team and take them to the championship game!

This is my crazy prediction.

Keep receipts,

the way I see it if the San Francisco 49ers can make a Super Bowl with Kaepernick and they made another Super Bowl with Garoppolo and a three headed committee at running back. You know the running back by committee. Everybody seems to be against here, but Christian McCaffrey didn’t help their cause. I mean they did the same thing without him They’ve done it before without one back that’s great.

The only disclaimer I’m putting on it if we’re riddled with injury like last year and lost too many key players, I Reserve the right to take it back , but if we have a healthy season, at least relatively normal season of injuries for the NFL ,nothing crazy ,

we are going to the NFC championship game.

This is my daily double lead pipe lock….

10.75% of the poser negative then we have to have these. I’m going full Rockport on this I’m going over the top like cc and I’m just doing it market down boys. 10.75% of the poser negative then we have to have these. 5 victories at the most!!!!! Book it!!!!!

And GM Jethro would be happy to hang out at the rim.
