Never understood that. A huge immoveable OC from an OL factory? Great pick.75% of this board thought Travis Frederick was a 3rd round pick.

That would be dumber'n dog poop.
I absolutely hate empty backfield sets w/ a passion. It's anything but QB friendly. The opposing DL doesn't have to worry about contain, they can just pin their ears back and go.well we are all entitled to our opinion and i am not going to get into this discussion.
though i am surprised you do not appeared to be aware of those discussions

They've been not only discussing, they've been running that empty backfield crapp a lot. It's cost us several games.
We've done it way too often in the red zone and at the goalline.empty backfield set can easily become 1 back when a receiver go into motion.
it is just 1 of many variations they can do.
i also would hate it if they go empty backfield all the time.
Calling Marinelli a moron was all I needed to read.We have been told that:
1. Rico is the best receiving TE on the team
2. Rico is bad at run blocking, whatever that means
3. Rico is a major mismatch in the passing game
So now we hear:
1. Rico may not be a good route runner - than what about our other TEs?
2. Rico said himself that he is run blocking is not his strong suit
3. Cowboys supposed to be going to more multi-receiver Dak friendly sets.
So how are we supposed to know with Garrett the moron:
1. the pursuit of the perfect TE is going the same way as the Marinelli (moron #2) 1Tech.
2. they dont take advantage of pass receiving TEs like the way they run plays out of formations that are either pass only or run only
If our coaches were competent, this would not be an issue.
But we have Garrett...

baloney as usualyes, the person lacking intelligence and unable to adapt to modern offenses.
the opposite of a bill belicheat type.
loser just focus purely on trying hard stuck in 1998 concepts only to be outwitted time and again.
reminds me of boxer from animal farm.
needs to be put out of his misery
baloney as usual
okyes inferior mind that try hard.
there is a reason why belicheat innovates and inferior losers like garrett and marinelli cannot adjust.
My wife drank a 12 pack of the Segrams variety pack last Saturday she had a blast then she had to wake up Sunday she did not like Sunday at all

Did the Cowboys say these things?

I don't understand these two comments.
Rico's run blocking issues have been mental. He has excellent physical ability to do it, but makes many mistakes.
Rico flashed as a receiver but we don't really know much due to limited examples in preseason games. Again it appears he has the physical ability but the mental side is a big unknown.
Basically Rico has similar athleticism to Blake Jarwin but Rico does it while outweighing Jarwin by somewhere between 30 to 45 pounds.

there has been lots of discussions about various rpo formations featuring 4 receivers and even some empty backfield.

Dallas ran some empty sets last year. They'd motion Zeke out of the back field. From random people speculating.
