I can't be the only one experiencing deja vu here. A young, unproven QB(Dak/Romo) is lighting it up in the preseason, can appear to do no wrong, gets all the lucky breaks, and the fans are already calling for him to replace the seasoned vet(Bledsoe/Romo).

Both young QBs were low draft picks, or not at all. Both weren't given any chance to succeed by the court of public opinion, but then the young QBs started showing flashes of play making ability.

I'm telling you, it's the Bledsoe, Romo switch all over again.

Romo and Dak had petty different college paths. Romo developed for three years in the pros, and he's playing at a higher level than Bledsoe ever did still.

It does look like we hit in Dak, though.

Oh, boy....We have the lethal combination of, everyone loves The backup AND everyone loves the rookie syndrome going.
Romo better not even throw an incompletion much less an interception or were going to have multiple threads calling for his benching.

Well, other than the fact that Romo is one of the best QBs in the league and Bledsoe was mediocre at best.

Romo will play at least 2 more years after this year, IMO. So, Dak will have to be patient, but he'll be getting those Wednesday reps while Romo rests. Plus, Romo has shown that more often than not, he's going to miss some time. So, Dak will get opportunities to play in the regular season too.

Can you imagine how good Dak could be sitting behind a master for two years developing?

Just to piss people off and be serious imo. Bring hardy back on the cheap and my expectations of the dline go up quite a bit!! I just don't like the dline setup!!

How about we start with being happy the we may have found our back and potential future QB down the road with selling the farm to get him.

That'd be a great start.

And btw, Dak was one of the more well known college players in the nation last year.
He was even MVP of the Senior Bowl.
Not really the same thing.

If Dak retires now how quickly can he get into the HOF
Ha. Someone in the game thread asked, I wonder if Jerry put him on the trade block tomorrow what we could get for him? A first and a third? Two firsts?

I am thinking it's more like the Broncos last year. Young QB proves himself a worthy backup in the preseason. Plays well when the starter goes down... Starter comes back... Superbowl... Starter retires on top... Young QB becomes starter next year (this time with the same team)

Am I wishing too much?

No sir, there are really no parallels here. It took Romo four years to get on the field, he was not drafted, no d1 football. Was not supposed to even stay on the roster.
