For those who suggested the D was the reason Romo and the team slid last year and would be cured by the addition of rookie DE Spencer, and coach Fillups.
Do you still see us challenging SDs sack numbers?
61 sacks? No, but 40 - 49 sacks shouldn't be outside the capability of this defense. The jump in sacks should also be a good indicator of increased quarterback hurries/pressures that'll led to more turnover opportunities.

Do you still see Spencer as having a Ware/Merriman -like rookie campaign?
No, but Spencer's role in the 3-4 defense doesn't mirror that of neither Ware nor Merriman. My hopes for Spencer in his rookie season mirrors that of Shaun Phillips' second season with the Chargers--not spectacular, but solid.

Does Romo get another pass if the D doesnt respond as hoped?
Nope. He has had his Cinderella season. Romo has gained regular season, postseason and offseason (e.g. mini-camps, full training camp & preseason) experience since taking over for Bledsoe early last year. He will now be judged on how well he doesn't turnover the ball, sustain drives and get the offense into the endzone--just like any other quarterback with a number of games played under his belt.

We really haven't seen all the new facets of the schemes, but any changes now that we have seen a bit of them both?
:starspin
Please, no more tinkering--unless it is to offset weaknesses of missing or injured players. We're good to go for the Giants. You can only worry so much about the 'what ifs'. It's nitty-gritty, are-you-ready-for-some-football time folks.
Execution on
both sides of the ball is the name of the game now.
