I dont know how many of you on here watch hockey, but I am from Toronto as most of you know. After watching this team for 25 years I can tell you that since the Johnson days, this team has become one thing. A money generator for Jerry Jones. The Toronto Maple Leafs are the richest franchise in all of hockey, yet they somehow manage year in and year out to sell out season tickets, and always finish just good enough not to get a good draft pick but not good enough for the playoffs. Sound familiar? This will not change because the fans in Toronto are loyal to a fault. Again, similar? The icing on the cake, is that Jerry fully came out and said, "we put on the best show on earth." Too me thats saying, "hey win or lose, you will still watch and spend money" Until that changes which it never will, we wont see change. Risen has been saying this for a long time, he is right. Winning is second to this team, making money is first. Jason Garrett couldnt coach a high school team, hes here because Jerry wants him here. I mean who comes out and says their head coach is getting on the job training? JG came out in his post game press conference yesterday and one thing he said made me cringe. He was asked if he at any point in the 4th quarter thought of taking Romo out. His answer. "NO". Really? Like how inept can one be? Anyways back to my point. Until the fans start saying screw this we will be the ones getting screwed.

I feel like the drafting of Martin over Manziel was a step in the right direction. Jerry would love the attention that drafting Manziel would have created. He could sell a lot of Manziel Jerseys.

I'm not sure he's over that yet. Romo doesn't have much more in him. If any one could find a way to get JF it's Jerry.

I have thought this many times as well. Being from SW Ontario. I laugh at Leafs fans. Hate hockey and find their passion amusing considering their franchises mediocrity.

And people do the same to me when I say I'm a Cowboys fan

No, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jerry try to get Manziel if he were made available; although, I don't see Cleveland dumping him in 2015.

Regardless of what happens in the future, it was progress for Jerry to agree to bypass drafting him in favor of a Guard.

By franchises i hope you arent including the Raptors in that discussion lol. Because that team is run amazingly. 13-2 record with over 20 million in cap space, and im pretty sure Durant will be coming to Toronto. That would be INSANE

I wonder about the implications of this for the players. Come to the Cowboys, earn some good money, not a lot of intense pressure to succeed. Some obviously care a hell of a lot anyway (e.g., Witten comes to mind in particular), but the others...?

Are we going to continue to have to read these type of posts whenever Dallas loses a game? Last time I looked, the sky was still there.

Rants like this come after defeats. They never seem to appear after wins.
How quite was this board until two days ago. Everybody was popping the cork.
This is the same team that was winning six in a row.
10/6 seemed like a reasonable finish at the beginning of the season, still does.

Its a valid comparison.........don't shoot the messenger because you don't like the message.............and yes, the sky is still there but our playoff spot isn't.

Understood your intent. You make some very valid points.

Don't know $$$ vs $$$ but contrast Robert Craft with JJ and the need for " face time" , " brand maintenance" really pops out.

I have the San Antonio Spurs to cheer me up, and they're the opposite of the Cowboys in so many ways.
