If you want the Cowboys to be big spenders in free agency, you are going to be disappointed for a very long time. It isn't their philosophy. And in the aggregate, you are better off not spending boatloads of money in free agency.

its not about that, ok you want to be cheap, be cheap, but we as fans have to accept, its about saving money, not winning the SB. When you spent a season of people saying "sure we lost the playoff game but we were 13-3, 13-3!!!!!"

Well after an offseason of blowing up the defense and replacing jags with jags, even with a draft who knows how those chips fall, you have to start thinking, "this is going to set us back at least a year" and ok even if 1 or 2, lets say Rod retires, now you are looking at bringing in a new guy, a new system and time to install. THan you are wondering "they did this all to be cheap, makes no sense when at best you are 3 guys away from the championship game."

If what we've seen so far is "the plan", then the planner needs to be fired.

How do we know it's all going as planned?
The Cowboys would say this no matter how the off season went.

Part of that plan is who they end up drafting in April. So until the draft has occurred the plan is premature.

If you believe everything put out in the media, Dak was their pick all along. Except we know it wasn't.

Again, there is a happy medium between spending like a drunken sailor in free agency and basically shopping the bargain bins for guys like Nolan Carroll.

Guys like Nolan Carroll and Peae are the happy medium. They are veterans with significant playing time.
