I've said it alot this offseason, one of my favorite things about the Cowboys - one of the few things I tip my hat to Jerry the GM for - is that they seem to do a really good job of bringing in no-name guys that none of us have ever heard of and said player goes on to make the final 53 and be a significant contributor. So here's the question - who is your Dark Horse this year?

For me, I'm still pulling for L'Damian Washington. He has good speed and length, but his overall size is the hurdle he has to overcome.

What is the criteria?

Even if Washington makes the roster, I don't expect him to do much as a rookie unless they have injuries at WR.

Of players that were not common names:

Veteran: McClain

Rookie: Ken Bishop

Player that was on the 2013 team: Durant

Backup to challenge the starter: Parnell

I was more thinking about UDFA's this year. Not sure of who all is on that list, but every year it seems a few figure out a way on the 53.

And I know the odds are stacked against Washington. I'm not predicting he makes the team; I'm hoping he does. Good story. Good Tangibles.

I am predicting Boyd at WR. More so because of the shoulder injury to Washington, but I don't know what the latest status of that is.
But I would have those 2 being at top of the list.

Boyd another guy with size and speed. And you probably right, he seems to have the inside track.

I think one of the reasons no name guys make our roster every year is we seriously lack depth...

The lack of organizational depth tends to make it a lot easier for these no-name guys to find a role.

But then you have guys like Tony and Miles as well.

What's it going to be then, eh?

That is a major reason why we usually have a good representation of UDFAs make the team each year. That and the fact that the draft choices are either too few in number or more stabs in the dark on athleticism than proven talent.

Jakar Hamilton - I know he was from last years FA class and I wish he was a little bigger, but does seem to be a effective tackler for his size. Has played both CB a S positions in college has nice coverage skills, seems to have a feel for the game and for what the boys want him to do. Have seen some nice reports coming out about his work this off season. I think he battles Wilcox more then we would expect.

I think someone - probably Broaddus - mentioned that he was popping a bit in OTAs. Could probably be a guy who, if nothing else, replaces Heath on the roster.

Dixon at safety. Wouldn't be surprised to see him take Wilcox's starting spot sometime this season.
