I will for sure be going to see this movie. I like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. If this is the last Batman movie of this version I am curious as to how long it will be until another live-action version of Batman movies will come out. I would like to see The Ventriloquist and Scarface in a live-action movie version of Batman.
For me, it's bitter-sweet that this is the last of Nolan's Batman trilogy. I enjoy the tone of the series and how "realistic" he has made it. Dark Knight was not just a great comic book movie, but one of the best movies that year...period.
The only disappointment, if you could call it that, is Christian Bale's portrayal of Batman. I wish Michael Keaton had the chance to be this type of Batman. The 1989 version was very good, yet campy. Keaton is still my favorite. That may be because he was the first live-action Batman I remember seeing on tv. Adam West doesn't count, in my opinion.
I feel Keaton's Batman would have made this trilogy virtually perfect. I did like Bale in Begins, but the overdramatic deep voice he had in Dark Knight was noticeable and distracting...although it was easily overlooked due to Ledger's performance and the plot itself. Hopefully he tones that down (the deep voice) a notch in this one.
I am excited for this one. Should be the darkest of the three...especially if you throw in Bat's broken back, Gordon's fading health, Bane, etc.
