I wouldn't let one guy split my lockerroom, unless he wasn't performing on the field.
Weak leadership in the lockerroom.
Letting TO affect your team's performance is like letting a 2 yr old affect the way a family is run.
Who is in charge here ?
I still say TO can only impact what he is allowed to impact.
Excellent point.
Owens became a problem because he was allowed to do so. In San Francisco, you had Mariucci running a loose operation. If you don't believe me, look at the total listlessness his tenure in Detroit was all about. He didn't like Garcia and lashed out.
In Philadelphia, Andy Reid is regarded as a pushover and you have a partially paranoid Donovan McNabb playing victim and excuse making left and right. Owens busts his backside to play in the Super Bowl. McNabb chokes. The griping begins. Players on the Eagles side with whom they feel allegience with. Some people think Owens just walked in there and with his magical powers of corruption, divided the lockerroom. He didn't divide anything that was not already headed in that direction. It is no secret that he had his supporters on that team, despite the fabrications otherwise about them all "voting him off". Other prominent players such as Jeremiah Trotter have confirmed that to be false.
You hear many times about players liking Coach Parcells because you know where you stand. I believe his no nonsense this is my way, this is it, would keep Owens firmly under wraps and let him do his damage on the field.
He can only be a problem if the lockerroom is already in a state of disarray and there is no control.
