The Deep Ball

Deep passes work well using play action. When's the last time you saw us use true play action pass? We fake the pass to run all the time (draw play) but I don't remember when was the last time we fake the run to pass.

We literally almost do this too much. To the point where noone believes we are actually going to run it when Tony fakes it.

I would agree with that, but the offensive line did a good job of protecting Romo yesterday. You don't need 7 seconds to prep for play action. You fake the handoff, turn, find your target, and fire. You throw so that the receiver can run under the ball, you don't throw it ONCE he's 40 yards downfield...

But I digress. The offensive line is not the problem - it's the play calling. Notice how the Garrett apologists are noticeably absent. They'll wait and then they'll come in and say it was because of the "overreaction" on the board and the "post-game meltdown." Real reason? They're wrong, and they're starting to realize it. Even T-RO has been criticizing Garrett, and he's the guy that would pass the ball 65 times a game if he could.

Does Garrett deserve blame? Absolutely. Do the players need to be acountable? Yes they do. I also think that until this offense finds a comfort zone and operates within that zone thay will continue to struggle. I don't know how long until they find their way out of the doldrums, but they need too ASAP. Another thing that I think that I think is that the answer to what plagues this team is not singular in nature, I just don't think that it is that simple.
