The defense continues to be awesome without Parsons

I mean nobody can anticipate that injury. Fact is he was great and packers defense was great when it had him.

Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime.
Im not saying that. I’m just saying we keep going back to Micah like things would’ve been different. It wouldn’t have if he’s hurt.

Like I told another poster. I’ll stop talking about the cowboys trading away a top 5 defensive player in the league, once the cowboys are no longer the worst defense in the league.

By the looks of things. It’s gonna be a while still.

Oh but it is. Micah would not be saving this mess. Quinnen and Micah? I could see that but rueing over someone hurt is as pathetic as the performance today was.
it is less about Micah, and more about the GM and the way he does business.

somone told him he needed better DTs. so he traded micah and trade for a DT slight better than Osa.

I mean feel free to do it. If he was healthy I’d probably be crying about his departure too but I also remember all too well that he was out there when the Packers lit us up and did absolutely nothing. As did others.

Flat out garbage performance….the worst of any team this opening game….worse than most of our D performances last year too from what I just heard. EZ don’t have any pass rush, he just runs into the tackle every time, Q and Clark didn’t do anything, Gary was just as average as he has always been, Lawrence is still a project…..this is why I wanted Bain, who cares about a great safety if our front is strait unclean cheeks!

While Parsons was certainly getting on my last nerve prior to when he "checked" out I said we should keep Parsons at all costs and would be a horrendous idea to trade him. Ego Jerry had other thoughts

Parsons on the field is a game changer. Packers arguably had one of the top defenses until he went down. He takes so much pressure off everyone else and opens up huge opportunities for others.

Granted we will see what he looks like when he returns. He may take this full year to get back to normal
Game changer in meaningless games. Stat padder. Disappeared at the end of every season and in big games. Doesn’t Dak get criticized for similar reasons? But Micah shouldn’t?

And let’s not forget he didn’t care about stopping the run.

You cannot win in this league without playmaking LBs. The Cowboys haven’t had one for many years (Parsons was closest but he was really more of an edge rusher than a real LB).
He was a permanent edge rusher after his first year. He should have stayed at LB

Top 5 at what exactly? Losing? Letting RBs run right by him? Disappearing?

Injuries predictably happen to undersized DEs who are forced to play the edge on run downs season after season.

Parsons would wear down toward the end of seasons for us. That he wouldn't be able to stay healthy long term playing DE was both predictable and I'm pretty sure predicted by me.
