The Defense Is Not Getting Enough Blame

I am seeing a lot of analysis and criticism of the offense and the play calling but not too much on the failure of the defense. Good defenses step it up when the offense falters. They get stops to get the offense back on the field. This defense let the Packers and Jets - THE JETS - get big leads before the offense could get started. OK, so the offense went for it on 4th down and didn't make it. They left the Jets on the 8 yard line! The defense allowed them to score on a 92 yard TD pass! No pressure on the QB, the safety is way out of position, and missed the tackle. Then, with just over 2 minutes left in the half, the offense faltered again and had to punt it back to the Jets. This time the defense let the Jets drive for a TD right before the half making the score 21-3. This is a Jets team that scored on 2 offensive TDs all year and they got 3 in the first half against Dallas! As bad as the offense was, the defense was worse. The Jets have a quality RB but their receivers are no names. Their QB is a 2nd year guy coming off of an illness that kept him out for a month. They sacked him twice but did not get much pressure on him most of his passing attempts. They certainly did not bang him around like the Jets punished Dak. Keep in mind, the offense was missing 4 starters, the defense none.

The defense deserves as much blame for the loss as the offense.

probably because outside of 2018, when have the cowboys ever fielded even an above average defense? 2007?

we're all used to the defense being trash

Ok, I blame the Defense................but the offense still failed too with only 3 field goals through 3 quarters.

They stink. Their coordinator isn't very good. They lack talent at DT. The LBs have played terribly. They can't rush the passer consistently.

Can't be anymore critical of them than that.

Oh don't you worry, I have been calling them out since the first part of the season. "Oh don't worry about our bend but don't break D." What a joke...
