The defensive upside this year

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride

You'll win over Lou just like you won over Rocky......the difference now is that it will change from the Dynamic Duo to the Texas Trio.

Keep changing heats and minds, my brother.
Heats? Ha ha

I'm sure the defense will look somewhat better, but I'm not really sure why people think the passrush is going to be improved.

On the edge:
- I like Lawrence but rookie rushers are rarely impactful.
- Gary isn't a better rusher than Clowney was.
- Eze has potential but his growth is anyone's guess.
- Williams, Houston, Wheat, Land, etc. aren't anything dynamic.

Interior: QW is the only impactful passrusher. It is a significant downgrade from Osa to Clark or any of the other DTs in nickel sets.

Maybe Parker wants to generate a rush with blitz packages, but there's little to suggest that's the case.
We start with better overall scheme. Better overall players.

I agree with the sentiment about the edges.

Truth is we are relying on Eze taking a step forward in his development and we are relying on Lawrence being a highly impactful rusher during his rookie season.

They’re both talented players who are capable of being what we need them to be, but it’s a tall order this early in their careers.

Yep, what IF. There’s a lot to like about what if, but it is indeed a lot more encouraging than it’s been lately. This at least MIGHT work out.
Upside is top 5. Lots of things would have to go right for that, though. We could easily move up into the 10-15 range.

With the defensive improvements coming this year, coaching, pass rush, safety play, linebacker etc I think everyone on defense that was here last year will look better in 2026.
You mean like the 3 players left?

But if the secondary can make the QB hold on to the ball a little longer, maybe they can get to him.

These hacks love building up hype for the Cowboys and will be first in line to bash or troll when it doesn’t meet their expectations.
