For the life of me I don’t understand why this team would draft WR in Round 1. You didn’t get whipped in the playoffs cause of poor skill players, you got whipped in the playoffs cause your OL got DESTROYED by SF. Now the plan is to ignore OL and draft another skill guy? Makes no sense. It’s Zion or Green all the way.

You don’t think we can finesse teams into submission?

You dont? Jerry got 40 mil a year tied up in a QB that will never get it done. You have to remember Jethro and son after 30 years are still completely unqualified to run an NFL front office and will do whatever it takes to prop their mistake up.

You don’t draft a worse player to fill a need. That’s what FA is for. Wait what? Dumb and dumber don’t know what FA is?

Agreed. That and corner are the only two positions I’m going to throw up if I see in the first round. Corner because we already have so much depth, and WR for some of the same reasons you mention. OL/DL is what I’m hoping. I put my money on OL though because of some obvious depth issues and McClay’s past picks at that spot.

We need to draft multiple OL this year. Not with the numerous 5th rnd. picks either.

I hope the Cowboys improve their offensive line but you do not pass on Burks for Green/Zion. The team is as week at receiver now as they are on the offensive line with the injury to Gallup. Burks is higher graded player.

If Cavanaugh had his way we would have drafted Davonte Hiesman trophy winner instead of trading the pick to the Eagles.:facepalm:
Hard to argue with Parsons but Smith was arguably their best WR last year and they'll probably add to it this year.

I'm just going to laugh if they pick a WR in the first round. How were the Steelers and Patriots moving the ball through the air over the past few decades? After Burress in 2000, the Steelers picked one WR in the first round, and that was 2006. Who the hell were they throwing to all this time? Not first rounders?

Before the crappy 1st round pick, 32nd overall WR Harry, You have to go back to 1996 for the Patriots to pick a WR in the first round in Terry Glenn. How the hell did they win all of these super bowls? Who the hell were they throwing to?

Smith is good receiver but their quarterback can’t throw. I don’t understand how so called Cowboys fan didn’t notice how the two times the Cowboys played Hurts they exposed his weaknesses. I also think the Eagles are a gimmick team that took advantage of the schedule to make the playoffs.

I thought he looked really bad in the playoffs.

To them if they can get a similar talent to Coop in the 1st but making three times less that’s a win.

They have to scout everything too. Last year they had the eggs in the basket for the two corners and they were gone. Same could happen with the two Guards.

for me I want the most dynamic player they can get in the 1st. Doesn’t matter what the position

He looked like a option quarterback trying to pass the ball in the NFL game. I see the usual talking heads on ESPN are picking the Eagles over the Cowboys.:facepalm:

First off I want no part of a WR in the 1st.

That being said, I understand teams wanting to get good talent in cheap contracts due to the inflating cost of the position.

So I understand it, but it still doesn’t make sense this year bc the class is weak at the top. Get a WR in the 2nd or 3rd…it is a very small drop off in talent level.

Look, you take a WR in that situation if he's the clear best player on your board. The Lamb situation seems like a good comp. I don't think we wanted to take a WR there but he was very high on our board and when he fell, it was a no brainer.

But if you have, say Burks or Olave as the 11th name on your board and Kenyon Green as 12 on your board, and both are available, you take Green.

How high do you take a WR with LB speed who is an elite route runner like Martellus Bennett?
