The definition of insanity

Look, you take a WR in that situation if he's the clear best player on your board. The Lamb situation seems like a good comp. I don't think we wanted to take a WR there but he was very high on our board and when he fell, it was a no brainer.

But if you have, say Burks or Olave as the 11th name on your board and Kenyon Green as 12 on your board, and both are available, you take Green.

I agree to an extent, but the problem is there isn’t anyone of Lambs caliber in this class. He would’ve comfortably been WR1 in this class.

So now we’re talking about 3/4 WRs going ahead of us, bc they’re always overdrafted, then we’re taking WR5/6 in a class that is weak at the top?

Dumb, dumb, dumb…

For the life of me I don’t understand why this team would draft WR in Round 1. You didn’t get whipped in the playoffs cause of poor skill players, you got whipped in the playoffs cause your OL got DESTROYED by SF. Now the plan is to ignore OL and draft another skill guy? Makes no sense. It’s Zion or Green all the way.
We are that dumb. We drafted Lamb and lost because we couldn't stop the run. Same story, different season.

They're definitely focused on OLine. Stephen Jones repeated OL more than any other position group in the interview from a couple of weeks ago.

The caveat is that they're likely looking for an OL that projects to LT or projects to OC/OG.
- I think they might decide that some Guard-only types will be available in the 2nd.
- A player that project to LT but that could be a quality OG until Tyron is gone would be optimal.
- If they believe that Zion Johnson is a legit option at OC and that Green is a Guard-only, then Zion is likely the pick.
- ZJ might be rated higher than Green even if Zion were a Guard-only.

They'll have a list that most years is about 18 players with true 1st round grades.
- They'll draft OL unless one of those players falls to #24.
- It would have to be a defensive front player (DL or LB) or a WR that falls in order for the Cowboys to make that pick over OL.
