I think Clinton Portis should be higher on these lists. Not sure how far up.

No way Julius makes the top 12. Not until he gets a 1000 yard season and plays for a FULL season.

I can't disagree with you guys other than the Larry Johnson placement. I'm not saying LJ isn't a GOOD RB, but I think LJ has the benefit of a VERY GOOD offensive line where some others on the list do not. If he continues what he did in 2005 for another couple of seasons, then he'd be higher up my list.

i was thinking more like at the moment.......

Hmm, based off of that, I think I might switch Tomlinson and Alexander. LT is just electric though. If he was put on that Seahawks team, he would do better than Shaun did.

Yeah I was wondering why people were ranking Ahman Green and Deuce McAllister?

Ahman is done.

Duce is coming off a major injury and before long will be ridin' the pine as soon as Bush is ready. That might be week 1.

Johnson has to do it for more then one year before I put him anywhere near that high. Portis has done it very well multiple years so he should be above Johnson- who has a LOT more offensive talent around him. Caddilac- one year does not a top 10 or even top 15 back make.

1.) Shaun Alexander (Work horse..enough said)

2.) Ladainian Tomlison (Best over running back in the game...)

3.) Edgerrin James (Proven warrior on the field)

4.) Clinton Portis (Say what you want but they guy is nice)

5.) Larry Johnson (One doesn't equate into greatness)

6.) Tiki Barber (Doubters have been wrong for over 9 years about this guy)

7.) Duece McAllister (When healthy he's a monster)

8.) Julius Jones (If he can stay healthy look out....)

9.) Ahman Green (If off the field isssus subside he'll be a nice comeback story)

10.) Stephen Jackson (He can run and catch the ball well)

11.) Cadillac Williams (This 2nd year guy is the real deal)

12.) Ronnie Brown (If he can stop fumbling he'll be a good one)

**A side note to one poster, I really don't see how you can put Tatum Bell on the list...and ahead of Julius Jones who's shown a little more at this stage in his career than Bell.**

Alexander is soft and rolls up stats and big games against garbage defenses. He quits running hard against tough, hard-hitting defenses.
He's horribly overrated

Since when was Shaun Alexander a workhorse. Last I checked he was a tip toeing little girl. Yeah, the guy has size but he doesnt use it AT ALL. Shaun Alexander is a cutback runner plain and simple, DEFINTLY not a workhorse. Also, I dont consider someone who quit on his team in the playoffs to be a workhorse.
