I'm just getting ready for training camp, and free agent moves. It's still football, just not the draft or season competition.

Yet.

I don't think about it anymore. But I remember the days when I would consider this the worst time of the year. Like it a lot better this way, time seems to go by faster and before u know it training camp is here, then preseason games then final roster then game day. Then it ALL goes by really fast after the season starts. Love it hate it at the same time.

It’s that gap between the draft and training camp. The worst period of the year for me. So what are the things the rest of you do?

During that period this year, I'll be heading to Missouri to help a friend move in with me, watching CFL when it gets started (as usual), using the swimming pool when it's open, and going to Anthrocon in Pittsburgh around 4 July weekend. Also, in mid/late August, I'll be in NJ at the Shore.

It’s project season.

This consists of ogling a new tool which I “must have” for a month before buying it and retreating to the shed with beer and music. This last a month before it gets shelved and used maybe once a year after that.

This year is a TIG welder which is proving a load harder to use than a MIG. I reckon I’ve spent about 20 hrs practicing and it still looks like crap most of the time.

Working on my golf game. After a winter of no golf, it takes me a while to loosen things up.
