The Dolphins are releasing WR Tyreek Hill, per Schefter

Hill's knee got shredded. It's about as bad as injuries get. He dislocated the knee itself, and I think he either tore 2 out of the 4 ligaments in it or 3/4.

Hill is an all-timer deep threat, but I doubt he's ever half that player again.

Sign him to a 2 year deal incentive based. If you think you will be a playoff team, having the Cheetah return in December for the stretch run and playoffs would be an impact

Just listened to Micahs podcast where he had Amari Cooper as his guest. Both disagreed.
Got rid of him stat padded on a bad team and soon as he went to a contender fell off the cliff. With Josh Allen of all people….

Micah and Amari are nothing alike. One was one of the best players in the league. The other was gonna get cut. Not alike regardless of what was said ona podcast they’ve must’ve been talking about chess.

I wouldnt expect from you to admit you were wrong. Even if its so clear obvious.

Must be a joy to have a discussion with you when things are not that evident. Finding a solution is not your thing. Your goal seems rather disguising that you are wrong.

Amari's best years were in Dallas. Him and Dak had a great connection. Except on the road which was weird.

Cooper was shipped out because of certain comments at the time, which in hindsight he wasnt wrong about.

They have injury guarantees. Sorry if someone pointed this out already.

Injury guarantees are a very common, often standard, component in NFL contracts, acting as a protection for players who cannot perform due to football-related activities.

  • Prevalence: Injury guarantees are the most common type of guarantee, often included in contracts to protect players if they are released while unable to perform duties due to team-related injuries.
  • What it Covers: If a player is released but is injured during team activities (practice/games), they are entitled to the money protected under this clause.
  • Distinction from "Fully Guaranteed": A "fully guaranteed" contract (which covers skill, cap, and injury) is rare, with only a small minority of players receiving them (e.g., 112 out of nearly 2,000 players in 2022).
  • Limitations: Injury guarantees often only apply to the current year or specific future years, and they do not protect against injuries that occur outside of team activities (e.g., in the off-season).
  • "Injury Settlement": If a player is waived with an injury, they may sign an injury settlement, which is a common way teams handle these contracts to avoid keeping the player on the Injured Reserve (IR) for the entire season
In the case of Hill, it appears the Dolphins had a large financial incentive to cut him.

I’m betting his finances are in much better shape

Phillip Rivers has been in the NFL for 17 seasons plus the few games he came back to play this season and made around 244M total.

Tyreek Hill has been in the NFL for 10 seasons and made around 144M total.

Of course that's 100M dollar difference. Now I'm sure you're wise enough to know that Tyreek will make over 100M more before he retires.

As far as whose finances are in better shape, who knows? I can't sit here and fully agree or disagree with you.

What am I wrong about? I accountability when I’m wrong more than anyone on this site. I was wrong on Javonte, wrong on Booker….wrong on Shotty…..wrong on plenty of things. I made the statement Jerry doesn’t trade talent. You bring up Micah. One time in 40 years means he trades talent. We all know Jerry doesn’t trade guys snd get compensation yet you are using this time to be a know it all which is fine i just don’t know why you are dying in the hill of Amari cooper.

No way he makes another $100 million over the course of what’s left of his career.

Hill’s divorce cost 500k and he pays 50k a month in child support just to her. He’d have to play many more years to have the money rivers hss now. Child support for that many kids is much more costs than raising the same amount of kids in your own household

Correct on bofe counts

...I feel his age has caught up with him. He's gonna be 32 in few weeks.

For WR/RB, that's lot of miles on the canvas.
