He can still have microfracture, just exactly as if he were still planning on playing.
And I don't think anyone is happy to see Terry's knees as bad as they are. They are happy that Jerry was correct in cutting him so that they don't have to read from *some posters* about how long we would RUE cutting TG.
Jerry Jones did exactly the same thing with Irvin and Troy when injuries took them to the edge of permanent injury or worst.
Irvin wanted to come back after his injury and who knows, he might have played and not been re-injured and been productive..but there was a big if..
Same with Troy and his concussions..
and also with TG and his knees.
The fact that in each instance, Jones held the door open for each of those guys to make a good decision..and then had to close the door on their continuing playing as too great a risk..
..not to the team, but to themselves..
says all you need to know about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.
In the end, each player knows their heart is in it, but the body is clearly lying to them about being able to do it.
Sometimes, the headcoach or the owner in this case, or both, has to make the decision for them and it's to let them go and end the risk anymore to the person.
When all is said and done, none of us want to see TG get worst now..for whatever reason.
He is a Dallas Cowboy, always will be for me and if he retires, it will be as a Cowboy hopefully.
He carried a good deal of our offense before Key and then TO and before Romo and the rest.
And he wasn't a top-flight in-his-prime WR when he did it...not like in his younger days.
So I'm OK with this turn of events.
I just hope he goes on and has his surgery and let's life after football start.
He doesn't have to go out on his shield to prove a point.
TG is tough and TG gave it his all. I enjoyed every play he made for us.
Thanx, dude.
