Here's how I see the draft panning out for Dallas this year...

ROUND 1:
#18- trade down for a 1st(*) and 3rd(**).
#(*)- OT Winston Justice (USC)
ROUND 2:
#49- DE/OLB Mark Anderson (Alabama)
ROUND 3:
#80- NT Rodrique Wright (Texas)
#(**)- OG Charles Spencer (Pitt)
ROUND 5:
#150- WR Marques Colston (Hofstra)

-Charlie Whitehurst, Darryl Tapp, and Greg Jennings are all possible alternatives in the 3rd round.

i dont think that Anderson will be a good OLB. He was a pure pass rusher in college i dont think he will have the coverage skills or the ability to stop the run.

How far down do you foresee this trade down? From what I have seen, Justice may not be available at 18 let alone after 18.

It would be difficult to trade DOWN and draft a player that wouldn't even be available to us if we stayed at 18. We'd have to trade UP to get Justice.

really doubt we can trade down and get Justice, some think he could go in the top-10 and most think he's going between 10-14...

not sure about Anderson for us at 49 either...he isnt the most athletic guy and a transition to OLB might be tough for him...great effort guy and is a nice player, I just have doubts about him fitting what we need

Have to disagree on Anderson as far as athleticism. He had a great combine and did well in almost everything.

I do agree that he might have a hard time transitioning to OLB.

Alright, the concensus seems to be against the possibility of Justice at 18 or below. (I'm not all that psyched about him anyway)
So make it McNeill or Scott after a trade down of a couple to few slots in the first.

I like most of your posts. However you are way off the mark here. Justice will not be available at 18.

These picks are not what I want but rather what I think will happen.

I agree that I may in fact be way off with the Justice call but as you may know... draft day can be funny sometimes. The unexpected does occur.

Texas OT Jonathan Scott? in the first rd?

he'll probably be there when we pick in the 3rd

Like Dbair said, Scott can be had in the 3rd (Kiper has him going in the 4th) and Mcneil is rated as a mid 2nd round pick right now.

I like the thought of trading down, but don't like the picks...Justice will not be there...

Wright is not a NT...he would be a 3-4 DE, but he's not a NT.

I take in same trade down scenario:
1) FS/CB Cromartie, if Huff does not fall this far
2) OLB Wimbley, Lawson, or Carpenter who ever falls
3) Oline Spencer or Colledge
3) WR Demetrius Williams
5) OLB Chris Gocong
6) NT LeKevin Smith...my sleeper pick
7) TE/Long snapper Troy Biennamann

Don't we need a FS?

Lower priority than other positions IMO.

Spending a first on a FS isn't a smart move if you ask me.

For a "Draft guru" you sure don't know what you're talking about.

McNeil or Scott in the first?

I'd love it if you were in charge of actually making the picks... for the Eagles, Commanders, or Giants.

A true guru would have told us who the Boys were gonna draft in the late rounds, too... :p:

Alright, here's my preferred draft...

1. trade down for 1st and 3rd.
1. Kamerion Wimbley OLB
2. Marcus McNeill OT or Jonathan Scott OT
3. Greg Jennings WR
3. Charles Spencer OG
5. Babatunde Oshinowo NT

I'd also take Chad Jackson WR with the 1st pick (instead of Wimbley)...
and Chris Gocong OLB in the 3rd (instead of Jennings)...
as an aleternative.

huff has an even smaller chance of being there when we draft that justice does.

neways my sig is the best draft in the world, check out my logic behind it on my thread.

1. im sorry but OLB in 1st seems to be the BP and most logical.
2. WR is stupid (1st pick should start, not be a #3 at best)
3. FS in round one? what a joke, none are good enough IMO. Huff would be the only one id take, and hes not falling.
4. Ngata is the only NT worth it,
5. Oline - anybody who is available at our pick isnt worth it.

1. in a deep class, carpenter stands out to me to be the best rounded and he fits our scheme better than any player, and will most likely be available at #24 (acquired from bengals in a trade).
2. WR - on day 1? no i dont think so, who is worth it other than jennings? holmes and jackson arent going to start and arent that much better than what we can get in round 2 or later. lets just say day 2 will be the day for WR.
3. FS - will fall to us (ALLEN is losing stock as we speak) in the third, and yea it sounds crazy, but after a big hip injury and failing multiple physicals is a big thing for a DB, running with a slot reciever is going to require a lot of turning of the hip, he has lost so much stock due to his injury that with that alone he is in late round two to early round three, and now with 2 failed physicals he is going to drop further into the third. we snag him with the 80th. we will grab some1 on day two i believe for special teams and incase allen or any other DB for that matter go down.
4. NT - hopefully we go day 1, with our 2nd pick of round 3 (that i think we will acquire from the bengals trade). this will help out ferguson, ive heard about steve fifita, we can acquire him in round 7, hes strong and palys with intesity, but his downside is hes short (5'11") and is not an every down player, but hey thats why hes a backup.
5. Oline - round 2, this is the "thick" of where Olineman are projected, and standouts IMO consist of latui and spencer, latui being bigger and stronger as spencer is a bit smaller but quicker.

peep the signature.
