Very excited about Connor Williams. Though I was higher on Will Hernandez. I think Williams can potentially bring this line further than Leary and I think Collins if he can become more consistent can bring this line further than Free. This line should be a better line than the 2014 and 2016 lines. A lot of ifs but the biggest lynch pin that I see Tyron Smith's back. If healthy this line should roll and so should Zeke.

I'm very torn on LVE, but I'm willing to take a wait and see approach with this kid. He shouldn't have much responsibility day 1, and hopefully we can get expected results from Lee and Smith.

I think Michael Gallup is a meh pick. It takes two to tango, but would have liked to see this pick become Earl Thomas. Gallup could become a solid #2 receiver, but I don't expect much more.

Dorance Armstrong is an interesting pick. DE is a crowded group right now. I hope this doesn't turn up being a throw away draft pick and results in the necessary depth that we need. We invested a lot into Charlton rather than Watt and we're going to need to see that pay off this year opposite of Lawrence. Armstrong, Tapper, and dare I say Gregory... I think we'll be disappointed of Kony Ealy makes this team.

Dalton Shultz is a solid pick and I think he'll immediately compete with Swaim and we can see if either can become the starter.

I think Mike White is a huge steal. Think he could develop into a player with good coaching. Unfortunately, Moore is our QB Coach...

I think 7 out of 9 becoming starters is patently far fetched though. I think the upside is more like 5.

I would take 3 starters and be happy with 2 additional backups.

In Will we trust.

Well sure, so was practically everyone else. But barring using our 1st round pick or making a massive trade up in the 2nd, we really didn't have a shot. I'm happy with what we landed.

I think most people would be thrilled if Gallup could become a solid #2. I doubt anyone expects a 3rd round pick to tear it up from the get go. It will take time for Gallup to develop but I think he has great potential based on his film.

Nice thoughts overall. Surprised to not see any commentary on Scarbrough, though. Many Zoners are high on this guy

I love what they did in the top 3 rounds. Seems like Connor Williams on paper looks like the safest pick of the 3, but I think the other 2 will surprise the skeptics!

It is not changing for me. Day 3 still sucks.

LVE, great, Williams is better and better as I look at it. Gallup, I like but need to see it on the field.
Really think day 3 could end up being a total waste, but am willing to give them a chance.

Time will tell but I think we did a great job in the draft.

William's, Gallup, LVE has potential to be a playmaking cover LB that is a force downhill. I think he makes a Pro Bowl in his first 3 years.

Its always hard to judge after the first few rounds, but I'm always okay with pass rushing depth and Shultz coming out of Shaws program was a good value pick. Solid blocker and he has the pro ready physical technicals at the top of his routes to be successful. Covington is hopefully depth. I think Wilson was a steal, potential #2 or depth in his future. You need guys like that. Bo is probably a bit overrated but if there's a team that could get value from him its us.

Always a fan of taking a QB with some talent in every draft, White is a good developmental prospect. My goal would be to have QBs worthy of keeping 3 on the roster year round.

I like some of the UDFA too. Kelly has potential for S or even the LB/S hybrid that are more important now. Queiro in that same boat. They both have a nose for the football which is always welcome. Lanning is a lunch pail guy that could end up making the team as depth or PS. I think Ward will be a solid PS candidate that may end up on the roster if there's injuries. The Osbourne kid looks like he has something to him. Tyree Robinson is large and Richard's likes big DBs, hes played high safety and is versatile, needs to pack on a little weight and clean up but could be a nice grab.

I liked our draft from the start. However we have to see how it plays out on the field of course.

Agree
I think overall we did a good job
However, as always the draft will revolve around LVE. If he's great, this was a great draft, if he's Carpenter 2.0, it's a major problem

The only pick I don't like is Armstrong. We are crowded at DE already...I think we should have gone LBer or safety there-- but oh well. I think LVE is going to add so much athleticism and speed to the heart of the D that the upgrade will be apparent early on. Williams is my favorite pick overall-- great talent, value, and fits a need. I look at the additions of Gallup, Wilson, and Austin as a step in the right direction in terms of solidifying and diversifying our passing game. We no longer have a true #1 WR-- but we have some interesting pieces to work with.

Schultz is arguably the best blocking TE in the draft-- so that will provide some more punch in the ground game and anything beyond that is gravy. Not easy to replace a HOFer-- so better to just alter the overall passing scheme to utilize the talents we currently have on roster.

Mike White is a nice selection. Interested to see what the kid can do and if he pushes Dak to stay focused I'm all for it.

Love Scarborough. Tough, angry runner. Can't wait to see what he does to a tired defense lol... Nice complimentary piece for Zeke and Austin. If he can play special teams-- do we try and trade Rod Smith?

we always draft winners, until they hit the field. Its all spiffy and good now. Look out NFL, the Cowboys had a draft and no one else did. Get ready for a misty dew heading your way.

To me LVE will need to get with Lee and learn Lee's understanding of the game. That is a tall order. Not to say he could not be good without that level of understanding. But his videos shows he gets caught up with linemen and has trouble shaking free once they engage. I even saw a video where a running back moved him out of the way of a play and he could not break free. So an understanding of what he sees and taking the right angle to not get caught up in traffic will go a long way to making him what some people think.

Also, he needs to get stronger. I understand his size, but the kid needs to deliver a blow when he gets there. Just my opinion.

Williams will be a beast. I think he has the right attitude and nastiness. During the first series of every game, I would get Fred Beard to tell him the defensive line doesn't like him and doesn't want to be friends. He seems to respond to that. I do hope he is more than a car commercial. I think so. But lets see with the pads on.

Gallup is one of my more favorite players out of this draft. I think he will surprise some folks. Maybe not his rookie year. But he has a toughness and an ability to separate. And the guy just catches the ball. I don't give a rat's appendix about #1 receiver and #2. I am hoping this team plays team passing. That they work together to get people open and block for the other guy. That the new scheme is a total sell-out of all the receivers to win. That it is so imposing it becomes the thing teams imitate next year. But then I want to see Zeke in the passing game more than before. He has that score from anywhere on the field ability.

Dorance Armstrong is faster than his forty time at the combine. His coach was shocked at that time and how late he was drafted. Coach also said he can carry more weight and be just as fast, which is a hallmark for this guy, and be a force in the running game. Trivia, the only sack Williams gave up was to Armstrong. I read that here. Could be BS. But that never prevented me from posting something before.

Maybe my favorite pick is the TE Dalton Schultz. Be advised I do not consider myself much of a football genius. But I see something in this kid that says Witten. If he adopts Witten's attitude for working out and taking this game seriously, he has skills. he can block, which is more than half the battle. But there is a video on YouTube which addresses his ability to catch the ball. he had a wonderful one handed catch in the endzone while going to the ground. It may take a lot of work. And this will not be year one, or even year two for him to blossom. But if he can stay healthy, I think he has a bright future.

Sgt. Schultz...."I miss nothing."

Not sure about White. He has some skills. He is a pocket passer, to be sure. Didn't toss many picks. Does have touch on the ball and a rocket arm.

Can he develop? To be continued.

Covington needs to be a special teams player and excel. He could be a nice back-up and come in and play. But that is conjecture and wishful thinking.

Cedric Wilson is intriguing. He too will need to be a special teams player to make the squad. But he sees the ball well as he runs deep routes. High points the catch. Plays well in traffic. Has some speed. Not going to race away from people, but will make a catch and run after. This would be a great pick for this team if it hit. Captain Obvious statement, but he surely has the potential to contribute once acclimated.

Scarbrough is a mystery to me. Someone told me he has had injuries. I don't know. He seems like a Barber type. Short yardage, kicking LB's into the defensive backfield who try to fill the hole. Can he catch? Because that and special teams is where he makes this team. Unless he comes in as the 3rd and one, 3rd and goal specialist, I don't see him getting many touches. And blocking for Dak is significant. Someone said he might move to TE. He is clocked with a sun dial if what I see in his videos is accurate.

Again, I am not a pro at evaluating. I watch and form an opinion. I believe in what I see. And I stick with it. But these are opinions.

Gallup will be a nice player, but probably not for a year or two.

The Patriots apparently really wanted Vander Esch. So that's encouraging.

I also read that bit from his college coach and its encouraging. Not that his combine #s were horrible but its good to know that his performance was negatively affected by an attempt to weigh heavier at the combine, which is a reasonable explanation. I'd imagine the team will find a good weight for him, perhaps closer to 248-250. This is a good player.

Other than that, I really like both WRs. Wilson is a guy I can see being a key contributer in 2019. Just needs to get stronger. The key will be what the team decides to do with him until then. Not sure he'd last on the practice squad the entire season.

I was uneasy about LVE but the more I learn about him the more I like the pick. Same with williams due to his off JR year. I'm on board with that one too. Gallup sort of reminds me of an Anquan Boldin level of production player which would be great for the 3rd round.

I'm not excited about Armstrong. I'm sure hoping that the team is right about him.

I think it is a consensus pick, but we could have traded down and got Hernandez. Ultimately, if Hernandez is leagues better than Williams and/or LVE is a bust, it'll make this pick look worse.

Gallup needs to become a #2. A 3rd round draft pick is still a high pick. He needs to be at least as good as Williams. Who was also a 3rd round pick and has expectations on him and his play.

I'm not sure if Scarbrough will even make the team to be honest. I see him as 3rd or 4th on the depth chart at the moment. I like what he brings to the table, but this is the Zeke show ultimately.

we could have traded down and got Hernandez.
LVE was the #2 target for the Cowboys behind Vea. They weren't passing him up. It would have been interesting to see which direction the Cowboys went if LVE been taken before 19.

They way fans are pushing Gallup to the side in the thread is crazy. The guy being picked in later round really have you guys minds made up.

You know in reality it doesn't work that way, some of the best talent has come out of later rounds. And I don't care that you guys will bring up the crappy wr trend lately, that means nothing, ever situation is different.

I really haven't seen fans give much of none of our wr core a chance. Hurns has been put down, so has Thompson, Austin, and Gallup isn' going to be much in MOST opinions.

Twill has gotten more praise and that's WITH HIS FOOT INJURY, while still being a bodycatcher.

Dez is not much to replace these days. A few years back, yes. But not these days. Get over it.

Williams has a long way to go before you cna start throwing him in there with Leary.
