Be surprised if Smith is there.

Kirby Smart has more depth on his D than any coach, including Saban, and he can afford to play them to fit his scheme, not to increase their draft value. He did that with Jordan Davis.

UGA is the new Bama with a lot of trust from GM's and scouts in the talent they assemble. However, I would stick a fork in Bama just yet, he had another #1 recruiting season.

The other thing is that we have the tendency to look at a player's last season and the NFL personnel hunters look well beyond that and we look at what is and they look at what could
Every time we mention a player we like, someone says he’ll be gone by 26. It seems like we just can’t get a difference maker, so why not just skip the draft? Get drunk instead!

That lack of production carried through to the NFL too. Granted, his rookie season doesn’t define him, but I’m always skeptical of supposed super prospects with no college production.
Walkers pass rush win rate was 12 his last year…literally half of Smiths this year.

He never, ever should’ve been take. or even considered as a top 10 pick.

Draft isn't just about next yr, but the life of their rookie contract. This is a way to shed that DLaw contract. Also, the DL room can look very different in 2024, where both Fowler/Armstrong are fa's and DLaw is a cap casualty release, that would leave us with just Parsons, Sam Williams.
Edge in particular can go from strength to weakness very quickly
