The drop off is Dak to Rush? White? My plea for Bridgewater

seriously. Super weird, and never once remotely funny
Its just s good thing you keep reading. You are like the harbor steward who keeps hitting himself with a grappling hook just to complain. Keep reading, Poof.o_O

The Saints are willing to let Bridgewater walk.

I know, I know ... In Frisco, St. Dak will be disrespected by Teddy's arrival. And Teddy will tire on the bench.

And Teddys presumptive contract demands might be $20 mil a year.

Still ...
Jerry is one Dak foot injury from the underachieving Rush or White. Eek!

That is the alternative without a Bridgewater.
Consider all this as you work that chaw ...

Hollah, and brings me a dollah!
So, we put 55-60m into the QB role?

In his day your dad was good. Bring him in! The missing teeth gave him character.

Would that he had not just died, literally. Lung cancer just got him. I posted about it a bit here earlier.

Normally I'm a bit ok with Dad jokes, but yeah, unfortunate timing.

Bit he had a long life!
Here's to Dads!

Who says Dak is worth $35-$40 mil?
The tag to keep him will be a minimum of 33m just for one year. You don’t get to negotiate the tag.

Unless you have some secret hack of the CBA, it’s gonna cost you 65m if you want both

the entire OP was preposterous. No one is signing Bridgewater to be a backup while they are paying 33m+ for another QB

it’s just Madden fantasy stuff

Im not up for sinking a fortune in Bridgewater since we have to pay Dak and will struggle to hold on to the talent we have but we should draft QBs that have the potential to be developed every year . Dak has spoiled us with his durability and availability . A quality backup that can win you a couple games if your starter goes down would be a nice luxury to have .

But hey first things first Get our players signed , make sure we have somebody that can kick 40 yrd FGs ,fix special teams , and get our young LBs back on track so we have something that resembles a defense .

How many years in a row would you spend a 4th round pick to develop? Teams only keep one backup WB. How many backup QB’s would you carry?

How soon do you cut them? After one year?

I’m fine with drafting a 5th or 6th round QB as our backup but I have no illusions that we will end up with a starter. Best case is you get a good ... backup.

I think Cooper Rush has a big bag of nothing, so sure, sign me up for a backup QB

Bridgewater is not signing with a team to be a backup. There are not enough QBs for all 32 teams to have a good starting QB. Most teams if the QB gets injured the season is over.

I think the real debate should be would you have have Bridgewater at a cheaper contract as your starting QB or Dak as the highest paid QB in Football?. I can see both sides of the argument and I'm glad I don't have to make those decisions.

Jalen Hurts.

Draft Jalen Hurts, and red shirt him while Dak comes to his senses or leaves after 2 franchise tags..

Of course, that's what a smart GM would do..

Or just get Brady (for less than Dak) and draft Hurts (3rd round or later)

This way, we can sign Amari, Quinn, and maybe even another staring CB with the money saved from Daks 40M a year contract..

What's there to lose?
I like the idea because Hurts is more slightly more talented than Dak.

Team would have a 0% chance of winning with Bridgewater. They could give us a $10 million salary cap credit for taking that turd and we still wouldn’t be able to win with him. Draft a QB.

I draft a QB every other year or depending on how talented I think the guy is sitting on the board.
I dont agree with drafting 5th or 6th round picks for back up QBs. I would use a 3rd or a 4th maybe depending on the guy a 2nd round pick. You should always be drafting for starter material and give the guy 2 seasons to assess with the intention that he will either replace the starter or eventually be traded for a draft pick. As MIke Mayock the Raiders GM said, " We really like Derek Carr but if we get a chance to improve that position we will." Thats how Dallas should be thinking especially with Dak wanting a kings ransom.

Nope, we won’t let good players walk in free agency just to sign a vet QB to money he’s likely never to earn. I’m betting we draft a QB in the 4-5 round area this year.

Bridgewater's fandom here is all out of proportion to his on-field contributions, which have mostly been very minor and involve throwing checkdowns at a higher rate than Dak ever did.
