Okay, so obviously our receivers had a hard time catching the ball last night. It looked to me like the worst offenders were T.O. and Witten, followed by Fasano and Polite. How much do you suppose El Dorado's drops were caused by the broken finger? I don't know which play broke the finger, but I do know if I went back and re-watched the game it would probably be relatively obvious approximately when it happened. There hit a point where the guy just couldn't catch. Probably because it hurt like hell.

So ... what's the story with the REST of the drops? If our receivers caught even HALF of the balls they dropped, this game would have been a complete and utter demolition of the Commanders. Fortunately we still beat them pretty handily. In a closer game, those drops could cost us a win.

The balls were slick? It was raining before the game. Either way I think its just a one time thing. Also some of Bledsoes passes werent that great.

Drops are credited to catchable balls. If you blame Drew here you make your agenda pretty clear.

Owens broke his finger on the first or second play of the game, so he gets a pass for the drops. His presence though kept Washington in 2-deep zones leaving one less defender in the box to blitz Bledsoe and cover Witten. So even with the finger and dropped balls TO had a HUGE impact on the game. Even Witten, with one less defender on him, played okay. Yes he had a few drops also but he made some key plays also; so I'm willing to be a bit more forgiving there too. But guys like Polite???? What's up with him? It seemed like if didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all. He's got to really pick it up because he's no rookie like Fassano.

I know they are credited to catchable balls, but some of them were wobblers lol, therefore making them bad passes. Hey I like Bledsoe and support him so just chill.

Please. A wobbler can be a lot easier to catch than a hard throw. Any pass that is on target is a good pass.

Good analysis. You're right -- if TO had gone to the lockerroom earlier, the game would have changed drastically for the Washington defense. Perhaps that's why he stayed in so long. I hope staying in didn't lengthen the recovery time.

Witten's drops are very unusual. I don't know what the heck that was all about. The guy normally has great hands. Polite, sadly, really doesn't surprise me too much. He's no Richie Anderson when it comes to pass catching. At least he's a better blocker :)

The receiver will always tell you, if it hits their hand(s), it's a catchable ball. Most of the time, the receiver blames himself. I thought Bledsoe played fine, besides that one he threw to Rogers bread basket and dropped. :)

Cowboys receivers drop nine passes

Unofficially, Cowboys receivers dropped nine passes Sunday. Wide receiver Terrell Owens had three, and Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten had two.

Washington cornerback Carlos Rogers even dropped an interception.

"We've got to catch the ball," quarterback Drew Bledsoe said. "Some of our drops were from our sure-handed guys, so I don't anticipate it being a continuous problem. I tried to throw an interception to that guy, and he dropped it. I guess I was throwing a hard ball to catch."

Give the Skins Defenders some credit for the drops. The drops weren't on wide open plays. In almost all cases, a defender was right there to lay the wood.

In any case, there's no excuse for dropped passes, but the Skins 2ndary was predicated on smacking any receiver the moment he laid hands on the ball.
