The dynasty ends....

I was thinking the same thing- pretty eerily similar in fact- coming off a 10-6 season, blow out a first round opponent at home and then get handled on the road.

nah they were just lucky, afc title game vs raiders (snow) should have lost. plus after their first super bowl they didnt even make the playoffs. no dynasty just luck. my opinion

:(

Actually, to me it brought back memories of 1994.

When Dallas had a short period of mishaps that gave the niners a commanding lead....only to battle back....and have the game settled on a controversial call....that prevented a team fron winning a third straight Super Bowl.

I see a lot of similarities there.

Yeah, I remember that game. Iwas only 8, and its the only time I've openly cried about a football game. I thought that once we got within 10 in the 4th, we would come back to win for sure, because the only thing I'd ever known to that point was winning.

I guess you're assuming they won't win it all again next year?

Yes, I am

Their defense is old, Corey Dillon is on the downside of his career, and their lack of WR talent is finally starting to catch up with them.

New England will still be one of the best AFC teams again next year. After Indy, they might be the 2nd best team. Also they proved they could win witihout Dillon. Their "lack of WR talent" was good enough to win them 3 super bowls. I wish I could say that about ours. Don't discount them as a super bowl favorite.

you dont win 3 out of 4 super bowls being lucky, i dont care who you are

a little luck helps dont get me wrong...but they were the best team in football those years

We may have ducked one snowball this year but if they figure a way to go next year that's a whole nother dynasty can o' worms that's opened. It may not be a three-peat but it's another three outta four, piggy-backed together, and that's better then us or anyone else ever. This is far from being over just yet. Let them fall flat on their faces next year and then I'll celebrate. We are talking about a solid championship team with a LONG offseason without many distractions to get this back on track though...and Tom Brady.

Brady will end up getting injured next year. It's been too long w/out him getting hurt. From there, their season will go down in a ball of flames.

It can't last forever.

It's just very, very difficult to win 3 SBs in a row. I think the 92-96 Cowboys came the closest and were the best team talentwise to almost do it. We only lost to a cheating 49ers team and gave them three turnovers in the first four minutes and still almost battled back and won. So, we went SB, SB, NFC championship game, SB. That is the closest ever to winning three in a row.

I don't think the Pats dynasty is over at all. They've won 3 SBs in 4 years. It's quite possible that they could be competing next year or the year after that for another one, and if they win another SB, they will be considered, without a doubt, the team of the decade (if they already aren't) and one of the best dynasties of all time.

They do have a lot of young talent on defense, I think they can improve a little next year and still take a running back in the first round...I couldn't imagine them with somebody like Deanglo Williams if he falls. I don't think they lack talent but size at the WR position.

To be honest...Brady kinda had a bad game. Maybe by getting out to a lead early? I mean they got pressure but Brady handled it most of the time...just seemed to be out of rhythm.
