The Embarassment continues

He doesn’t want a SB ring more than anything. If he did, he would have stepped aside a long time ago.

The best thing JJ ever did as a GM was hire a HOF coach. It’s WHY he has 3 rings. The worst thing he’s done and continues to do is not recognize what the winning owners of the last 26 Super Bowls already have- you need to hire a qualified GM, hire a great HC, then let them do their jobs.
that’s assuming the man doesn’t have an large ego. We all see the world through our own impulses. JJones wants a SB more then anything but with him as GM. Of course there is fault in that

It’s about the 16 million we saved!!! Spend it on D.

If this D becomes dominant, with a few key pieces, you will forget all about Amari and his lack of passion for the game.
This is the part that bothers me, I get that it's mainly about the money we save on the cap but it's the Jones idiots that created that problem in the first place by giving Coop that contract. When they paid him he was the same type of player that he is now, a guy that checks out for games at a time and doesn't seem to give 100% when on the field. Lol he was that same kind of player for the Raiders and yet Dumb and Dumber gave up a 1st rounder for him. I can totally understand why so many are frustrated.

A good front office would have never telegraphed in advance what they were doing with Coop. His value plummeted the minute Stephen made it known publicly that they were probably moving on from Coop. Why would any team offer a high draft pick when they knew he would be on the market for free anytime soon?

We were actually fortunate we could find a team willing to give a 5th.
Exactly. How smart do you need to be to realize that, get as much as you can. Cleveland can easily dump Landry for a 5th or better. The problem is moves they make lead to zero confidence in the way they do it. We as fans do not know what they know so there could be reasons behind a lot of the things they do. But history tells us its one step forward and four steps back. Hence 3 or 4playoff wins in 26 years, just simply no defense for that especially in a salry cap era when everyone is supposed to get there window to win.
There just never seems to be a plan or an identity.

Man its like you just described what Bad GM/Coach combos look like...we are lucky here we have stability at GM which keeps hiring puppet coaching staffs...gotta love stability.

I have always backed this front ofice and team with rose colored glasses. But I have to say in over 50 yrs of being a fan I just can't seem to understand anything the Jones boys do.
* Cave to Elliott while he sat in Cabo after giving this front office nothing but headaches from day one. Than way overpay a RB.
* D Law has a career year and we do the same
* Coop, I have to beleive that there is more to this than we know. A 5th rd pick are you kidding me. You announce to the world your cutting him, than you have to settle that you got anything at all for him after giving up a 1 three yrs ago.
* Gallup not signed, you cut Coop before u sign him and give him all the leverage where we will overpay again.
* Dak to me is a better than avg QB but no where near elite. We waited to long to sign him and another guy we overpay. We can win with him but like a lot of us saw you need to surround him with good players.
Well thats not happening.
* Collins is one of the better RT in the league and we will probably get another 4th or 5th for him.
His contract is not bad. Steele showed up last year but we are gonna get rid of Collins and lose our swing T to start and have a huge hole when Tyron misses his 4 to 6 games.
* Personally Coop we should have kept and cut Lawrence.
*Franchise our TE. Schultz is good but not $11 mill a year good. I you watch film Dak throws to him becaus he misreads what's going on down field. Coop is doubled and this leaves Schultz in a great position to pad stats. Teams are not afraid of him hurting them. We could sign a FA much cheaper and get good results

We still need to sign Gallup, Kearse and Gregory. Need replacements for Collins who will be gone, Coop
Hooker, Ced Williams, Kazee, Urban, Jarwin, Anger, Zuerlein, LVE, Connor Williams and others.
This is like a sinking ship and I just can't jump off.
One of the worst off seasons I can remember, I hope Im wrong but the future here does not look good. I have no choice but to start to believe that the Jones boys just want to stay relevant enough so the money comes in. Just a terrible job of running things the way I see it right now.
Lets hope it gets better. All the best my brothers
You're embarrassed and still here.....yeah, that's pretty embarrassing. Shame on you.

somebody said if jerry gets smart, that's a pipe dream that he sells along with his products every year for the last 26 years to be precise with inflation and his electric bill for the stadium. get ready for ticket sales for certain area's to go past the roof into the clouds. as for me if the game comes on tv that will be cheaper to sit in the living room. and you will see a team in disarray sorry for all cowboy nation and as far as Dak good person, fairly good 4 round qb but againist the competition maybe 6 or 9 wins, he's okay at a certain level but he's not gonna get you to the promised land

Cooper's trade value plummeted while Gallup's leverage skyrocketed. All because our FO is obsessed with attention and tells everyone what we're doing before we do it. So frustrating.

Getting rid of Cooper was the right move We overpaid for his services in draft picks and salary. The problem is that we waited too long to cash him in. As a result, we have nothing to show for the trouble but more cap room which i'm sure we will squander overpaying "our guys". Not a great way to run a football team.

Even seen a new hater has hatched in this thread. :lmao:
The real embarrassment are the fans.

FA has not started, still have the draft to go, yet many fans doing there usual.
I am not embarrassed to be a Cowboys fan. If you are, then time for you to find another team. Adios and good luck.

"I have no choice but to start to believe that the Jones boys just want to stay relevant enough so the money comes in" Bingo! The record honestly does not matter in regard to revenue. Dallas Cowboys, Inc.

At this point, I just watch the Cowboys this way. I don't get nervous during games because I no longer have high expectations, and probably have a better perspective of the importance of football after 50 years as a fan. I scratch my head at some front office moves and wait to see what stupid thing Jerry or Stephen will say next. This franchise is no longer about championships and more about 24/7/365 entertainment, that comes in many forms. Just don't get your hopes up for #6 and enjoy the show.
