11 out of 14 touches on that last drive by Emmitt despite being in a lot of pain. I can still remember the look on his face you could tell how bad it hurt yet the chruned out the yardage to get us into FG for the win. Big time play but a big time player

If we could install some of his heart into our current team there would be an instant upgrade in the number of wins.

I see some with that heart. Jason Witten, broken jaw and kept playing and did not miss a game, lacerated spleen and was a question mark leading up to the opening game but he played and did not miss a game. Romo broken ribs kept on playing and even last year he played through the pain and helped the Cowboys beat the skins however the injury was bad enough to keep him out the last week. I know all players play for money but when you see guys in the NFL playing with some of these injuries it is not just about the money, if it was just about the money they could sit and say they can't go and no one would blame them but they strap on the gear and get out there because they do love the game and the competition

Emmitt is my favorite player of all time, but I've always wondered if he didn't embellish ever so slightly that day.

I've seen interviews of him talking about it & he said it was the most pain he ever felt playing football. I believe that. I have never hurt my shoulder though. Maybe others can chime in that had what he had.

and as a RB he is going to take hits on that shoulder on pretty much every play, not much you can do to get around it at that postition.

top 5 cowboy games for me. I was at my cousin (diehard eagles fan) house watching it and it was one for the ages.

Witten is one guy on this team that comes to play every single day
He is a throw back to the 90s team

Skip Bayless said he talked to the team Doctors after this game and he was told Emmitt had a slight shoulder seperation. He said the media used to call Emmitt "Emmy" Smith because he was such a good actor. Skip thinks Emmitt made more of it than it really was.

I was at this game!

So was I. What a great memory! I remember the sense of relief and exhileration after Murray's kick was good. It was a thing of beauty looking at the dejected faces of the vagiants fans at that moment. I strutted out of that stadium with the biggest grin you ever saw. Good times...good times....

Well then give him an Oscar because the pain was written all over his face & he could only use the one arm.
